Dont really like the artwork, but it does kind of show what they were aiming for on the toy. Shame it didn't work. The colours are better on hte art at least.

Nice ref to the 12 missiles, but geez is every piece of literature for Botcon 09 going to be reduced to "EIGHT TRACK LOL REMEMBER THOSE HAHA THEY ARE OLD AND RETRO LIKE TRANSFORMERS HAHA COOL BRO"

well I will say the colour job is good but apart from the face I cant say I like the art that much.

As for the Bio its ok I'd go as far as to say this year all the bios seem quite cool

Remember when we bought TFs because we liked the toys (and the fiction was secondary)? With this set, it seems as if the fiction is supposed to make up for the figures being crap.

I like the eight track if only for the techo punk retro 80s aspect all modern transformers lore pays respect to.

So those 12 circles on all his shoulder wheels are explained as missle launchers.

And his primary weapon is a consistently flaming plasma mortar cannon.

Well the art is the least flattering of any in the set. I can't stand to look at it.

Why is this image mirrored, therefore taking ad hits away from the TFCC? A thumbnail and link would suffice just fine...

    No, I don't remember that.

Even when I was a kid, the fiction was at least on equal footing. I would stand for an hour in the toy aisle, just reading Tech Specs. The character I liked best would almost always be the one that went home with me.

Honestly, and I really do mean this in all seriousness. No. I don't. I'm not saying that such a time never existed, but I got into the fiction so early in my TF experience, and the characters have always been the primary selling point.... Even for those who were never properly featured in the cartoon or comic, the Tech Specs or box art made them cool.

I may not have been around for the G1 toy days, but frankly I tolerate alot of the more crappy toys in my collection for their stories. Like my Alt. Battle Ravage, who I tracked down on Canada eBay simply because his Binaltech story was the pivotal cause of the splinter Alt. BT timeline. Even the limited bio for the Alt. mentions that it's BW Ravage's mind powered by G1 Ravage's spark all together in a kick-ass heavily armed Corvette body.

Talk to anyone on the original Transformers Marketing team and they will tell you how incredibly important it was to the brands success having a strong story to back up the toyline...
