Yeah someone here said they saw a pic of Rapido from a reliable source, bit couldn't post it. Nice to see it confirmed.

The post doesn't say it's Silverstreak, it says it's a repaint/remold of Silverstreak. I agree that it looks like G2 Rapido.

I'd say definitely BotCon, too. The logo across the windsheild is a dead match for Streetstar.

EDIT: Also, being as this is the same as the Prowl mold, I'd say this is a very good bet for the bonus toy. There's been variance on that before, but more often than not to daye it matches one of the toys in the box set (Flamewar to Arcee, Ricochet to Jazz, Tigatron to Cheetor).

I highly doubt FP will use the same mold twice in a same year. The windshield "Autobot" decal was already used with Streetwise/Streetstar. I think its just a mock up.

    Yeah, they've NEVER done that.

Assuming by "never", of course, that you mean "every year".

Anyways, yup, definitely Rapido. I'd say attendee freebie.

Last year Cybertron Sideways was used twice for Scourge and the Sweeps. In 2008 Cybertron Crosswise was used twice for Jazz and Riochet. At least one mold in the set is used twice. It happens every year.

Do you mean the same mold, or the same paint application?

If you mean the toy mold, they use at least one mold at least twice every single year, so that's not remotely unthinkable.

If you mean the paint apps, I'll note that Jazz and Ricochet share many paint apps, as do Arcee and Chromia from the 2005 set. This specific windshield marking (G1 Autobot logo and "Autobot") was present on both toys originally. It makes perfect sense for the same marking to be used on both figures for BotCon.

    Definitely looks like Rapido.

I wouldn't expect a head remold, as aside from having no mouth, Rapido has a very Prowl-like head. Stranger things have happened though. I doubt anyone was expecting in the 2008 set that Cybertron Blurr would be remolded into... Blurr.

That's Rapido - you can even see the numbers on the side.
Pity they couldn't engineer a new gun/engine into the head area too.
I'm not really sure if the Nissan he's based on is supposed to be midengined or not though.
I hope he has a new head mold- he'd need it as the carmode is not an ideal match without it.

    I do like the character.
I wonder why not make a G2 Jazz or normal deco Ricochet instead though using the Shattered glass head mold on another crosswise repaint.

Deco looks promising. Doesn't appear to have pink windows, though.

Yep. That was one expensive eyepatch. Nothing's too good for BLARR.

In my book, G2 Jazz's deco isn't nearly different enough from G1's (and, therefore, from SG's) to make him a worthy addition to this year's set.

I though Jazz would go nicely with Cybertron Smokescreen and I like the idea of Ricochet Borrowing a Targetmaster from Cyclonus, And Unless Hasbro plan to continue to revisit 'Classics/Universe/Generations' from time to time then, we may still be lacking a non-movie Dx Jazz.... Even if the G1 deco movie Jazz is an adiquate stand-in for the time being, and perhaps for good.

I'd say it's even money. I expected these exclusives to start getting leaked by now anyway... :lol

I feel pretty confident a Classics Jazz is on the horizon, if not in this legacy line (i.e. Classics, Universe, Generations, whatever they call it in the future) resurrection then in the next.

Hasbro knows what they are doing with stuff like this. I would bet money that they deliberately hold back certain key characters from this ongoing line to keep interest up among all categories of collectors. Sure, the small subset of hardcore fans would buy anything and everything.... but if you dumped all the headliners into the early waves, a lot of casual collectors would stop there and not pick up later waves that they considered second-stringers. So the waves are staggered: for every Prowl you get an Octane (well, Tankor), for every Ironhide you get a Powerglide, for every Starscream you get an Acid Storm. They have to hold back highly desirable characters like Wheeljack, Jazz, Soundwave, Shockwave, etc. to keep people salivating for and paying attention to the line. I bet this upcoming Generations line will be a same, a mix of A-level and B/C-level characters.

So, that's my rationale for why a Classics Jazz is almost a certainty in the future (unless Hasbro scraps the legacy line altogether). And I'd rather just wait for that (plus its likely Ricochet repaint) than have FP waste a slot in their lineup for a not-quite-right homage figure that would no doubt send some people into a Thundercracker-esque tantrum.

In regards to this presumed Rapido figure, that looks tasty. :)

G2 Jazz was just G1 Jazz with slightly different paint apps and stickers.

Besides, assuming Fan Publications used the same types of cheaper, shorter-run molds that 3H did, the new parts from previous BotCons can no longer be used.

I really hope some of the locals that are going to botcon have the time to stand in line for a couple exclusives for me. If they make a G2 Ramjet, I will need it badly.

They finally homaged a G2 figure that I actually HAD as a kid. I'm definitely not making it to BotCon but I may keep a lookout for this guy on the secondary market.

This mold would fit Rapido perfectly, and it looks way better than Streetwise/Streetstar IMO.
