Here is my version of the Botcon customizing figure Primal Prime. I did not attend the class, but managed to take the assembled figure apart and repainted it. I deviated from the class instructions to better match the original Primal Prime toy color scheme. I used a textured matte blue paint scheme for the furry parts (inspired by Scion of Primus) that contrasted deeper metallic blue mechanical parts as a nod to the original's transmetal finish. I used Citadel paints fo the fur (my first experience with these, they look nice but don't stick too well to this figure...). I chose not to detail the whole figure beyond the fur to keep the toy look a bit. I used an airbrush to put a gradational paint job on the hand guards and the ape chest. I inked the features of the ape face to bring out the details a bit on the translucent plastic. The Wrecker's emblem on the cyber key is from Reprolabels.

Photos of the base Botcon figure and the original Primal Prime can be found here

Outside of his board not being detailed, this is the best one I think I'll ever see, stunning!

    Fair point.

I just have always found the board so boring I just lost interest in it. FunPub should have made it a more interesting color anyway (Apelinq's board matched pretty well, lol)...or at least included the stickers to with it for the price.

I think a little silver/matte steel blue dry brush would make that board pop, as it stands now it almost distracts from the amazing work you did. It makes me think there is something going on with that board..something.. Evil.. =P

Love this mold. Great job. Wish I had it to add to my two custom versions.
