Hey guys. I've done conventions before and I'm relatively familiar with the nuances and particulars of them.

I'm pondering whether my fiance and I could do Botcon this year for absolutely dirt cheap.

How much is the basic, "just register online for entrance" ticket? Like, none of the superpowerridiculous packages.

All I want to do is go in, look around, definitely have a beer or two with you guys, and then head back. Probably do it over the course of a weekend. As most of you know, I'm selling collection stuff AND getting married, so I really ain't coming up there with a shopping list.

Accomodations would be taken care of because I've got family in Connecticut, and I'd probably just drive up. The Botcon ticket is the one big variable.

I think you would just be good with the walk in prices then.

IIRC the walk-in tickets were like 9 bucks or something like that, but get there early because there was one helluva line last year.

Unfortunately I do not think there is a pre-registration for that situation, there were all the different packages, the cheapest was still quite expensive.

EDIT: If someone can confirm that, I always do that all-balls pre-reg so I'm not 100% positive on the walk-in situation. I think someone around here did a walk-in last year.

Aight, cool. I can do walk-in.

Shit, last time I did walk-in at a convention was a Trek con in like '94. I waited half the day to get in. :(

Ah well. If nothing else I can pull a bit of a boozer with y'all.

I don't think you'll have to wait half a day to get in... but it wouldn't hurt to get there early haha

Sounds like the girl is in on it, too. Talked to her tonight.

Looks like I might be spilling beer with y'all come July.

Aight, looked at the botcon website. The 2006 con had the minicon package, which was $75. Yeesh. Between $75 for a prereg package and $9-10 at the door, I'll take my chances at the door.

Hate to bump this, but I feel like an idiot - I can't find the Botcon 2007 dates on botcon.com. Any help?

I hear walk-ins have some trouble getting into panels (you have to wait until pre-reg's are seated or something). But if ya just want to amble around + have a few drinks at the bar it oughta be fine. :D

I believe Botcon's during the weekend of Friday June 29 - Sunday July 1.

You can't actually buy the Minicon package by itself. That's an add-on for Primus package owners who want to bring along an extra person. The next cheapest option after the $9 walk-in is the Protoform package, which I think ran somewhere in the $150 range.

So your going to fly clear across the country for what has the promise to be the biggest Botcon to date, plus it will also be your first TF convention and your NOT going to partake in the exclusives... some times I wonder about these youngins :p

Same here, I havent seen any botcon "exclusives" that I've wanted ever and certainly not at the prices they're at.
