Really? $1000 USD?
2011 Botcon Customization Class Toy: Shockwave(Jazz)
Completely normal for a customization class toy to be put up for that much.
It's been selling for 1000 bucks since the second people were handed it in the customization class: I don't get what's new about it selling for that weeks later?
When it comes to value, no matter what item it is, there are always going to be people who think it's worth a ton, and people who don't. Who cares?
If I remember correctly, things like that elita-1 and other customization class toys were that expensive too... I don't see that worth in these, but shit, what people do with their money is just that.
Botcon ran out of ideas this year and copied a lot of customs...
I bet anyone can make this easily. Anyone.
If someone will buy it for that much, I don't see why not.
I wouldn't say they ran out of ideas. Some ideas are gimmes, nobody can take credit for them.
It looks ok, but if it were me, id just buy alternator shockblast. I realixe the custom is rare, but I just cant see shockwave in that mold.
+1 post and QFT.
With the customization class figures, you have to consider that the production run is very small. Take that + TF toy collectors and that = lotsa $$$$
this. traditionally customization class figs do tend to fetch high $$.
They didn't copy any custom. They got the idea the same way that customizer got it. Shockwave's Alternator toy was a remold of Jazz.
The thing to consider here is there was two customisation classes this year, therefore there are twice as many of these on market as previous years, which should affect the market value a little. I've seen these swap hands for $500,which I think is very fair considering the scarcity.
They did also double the price of the classes this year, but I don't think that initial rise in outlay is commensurate with the $1k asking price some people attempt, given the production run was doubled.
As with anything, the demand sets the price. So we'll see on this one.
Personally I'd rather custom an RTS Jazz, you could get a better Shockwave head and a better shade of purple that way.
Damn customisers running out of ideas and copying TakBro if anything, same with the people who paint RTS Jazz red to make Zoom-zoom.
I feel bad for anyone who buys this particular Shockwave with the intent to assemble it. Having no instructions, no key for the pin/screw size and subsequently the necessary tools, requiring ~8 hours to assemble (with instructions) and no extra parts when something gets damaged will make this a painfully regrettable purchase.
i love that auction where someone sold just the shockwave head and gun nozzle on ebay and got like $60ish for those two parts....
i do hope they KO that guy like they did P/CP ...he actually looks good in that purple shades of color...would not mind picking him up for a decent price and fully assembled...
