Yeah, I haven't seen too many on eBay. I imagine they pass between big TF collectors outside of eBay (a majority of the time).
Yowsers. That is crazy. I remember seeing one go for far less back in April (if I remember correctly).
Thanks. I knew it went for significantly less back in April. I'm sure that seller is kicking himself (the one from back in April).
Yeah, the irony is evident. I still think the starting bid was too high. And I honestly think one of 2 things happened with this listing: a) Shill bidding. b) Bidding war between 2 serious parties with lots of disposable income. In turn, the price rose far higher than the normal market value for this TF. There is no way Breakdown is worth anywhere close to that amount. I wouldn't be proud telling my friends what I paid for that piece. That final price was no bargain.
Tell me about it, ha ha ha I had FOUR Breakdowns at one point! Might have to list my Jazz and Soundwave!
holy crap. I about to crap in my pants. 1300 bones is alot moola. There might be some added hype with this year's botcon set being G2. But damn.....
WOW ...i cant believe i'm saying this but I think this is a better buy than darksyde megatron! ---- What's gonna happen in 30 years when we're all old...are these toys gonna be worthless?
I think its pretty obvious that things have changed. There are many differences in the market for G1 and high dollar items. More collectors, but less big spenders. In the years past, I made many sales for big numbers, nowadays it is hard to move anything over 2K. I would love to see a quality sealed G1 collection come up for sale publicly. A collection of super highgrade stuff moved for good numbers recently, but all the good stuff went privately. Time will tell...
