Well, yeah, as long as they're not G2 redecos. Or themes along the lines of Action Master Thundercracker, i.e. random and horrific paintjobs.
I was thinking of doing that last year, Shaun talked me out of it, and I am glad he did. FP puts out good toys, and are worth the money to me. Congratulations to FP for having all of the free toys spoken for.
Great, it's going to be that much harder to get a hold of through alternate means. Plus, this going to drive up prices for it, as well. WONDERFUL.
I now change my standard request from "Action Master-colored Classics Thundercracker" to "Action Master-colored MOVIE Thundercracker"! (Spelling police: note that "Action Master" is two words) (And, no, I'm not really changing my request. AM Classics Thundercracker. Make it happen.)
Wow this is going to be an awesome convention this year. I have a feeling the dealers room is going to be crowded this year.
All the more reason I wish I was going this year. It was a choice between paying for a comparable amount eBay win, or registration. I chose the eBay win because it was the Turquoise G2 Grimlock I'd been looking for so long. It ended costing me as I missed registration before it it closed. (Barely got my membership dues paid as well.) I've got a boxset spoken for, plus the attendee purchase figures somewhat spoken for. I still need to get a lead on the Free attendee figure of Ricochet. Beyond that, I'm gonna wonder what I missed for all the events, particularly the highly attended Hasbro product reveal panel.
I still am at a loss as to the demand for this set. the only thing I can really think of is people speculating and trying to make a profit causing these to sell out. the idea was trashed by a majority of the posters here when these were originally shown, and I'm personally not impressed in the slightest by any of the figures, or the idea.
Me too. I thought that the crowd would be way less, because it's not a movie year, and not in summer. I was totally wrong, and I am happy that I was wrong.
Hmm...there were Ricochets left after the 2008 sold out. All of the leftover Ricochets have now sold to dealers or people purchasing the 2005 set. Perhaps the demand has something more to do with Botcon itself than the 2008 set. If someone really wants to go to the convention, the toys are a nice bonus that aren't that expensive if you look at the price delta between attendance with the toys and attendance without the toys. I am sure there is some speculation going on, but I think a lot of sets were sold to people who genuinely like the set.
I would Kill for a Movie Line Stunticons. So many great car molds that could become great characters with a simple head swap. By next year I suspect animated molds will be available for "use" by FP so maybe we will see some Animated characters. But who knows, every year they do a great job with the molds they have available from hasbro.
I suspected the movie has driven up the general interest into Transformers.... I don't feel any significant attraction comparing with the exclusive boxset figures from last year's. While the supply has dropped down?? I never recall the amount being produced on this year's .
Man, I can't wait! This will be my first con and I LOVE the ENTIRE set they have this year! The attendee purchase figures (so far) are just as, if not more impressive! Ricochet is nice, but I'm a little curious of his design scheme. I was expecting something with flames. Ricochet is the same as Stepper, right? Or was the name reassigned to another character with a similar design? Still a really great design though.
ahhh, that makes a bit more sense. I was trying to figure out how all of these figures got sold out. I guess I was thinking that maybe a lot of these were just being sold to people doing non-attendee packages, and just trying to make money off of them. I still thought there were WAY more people who didn't think this year's set was that hot than would ever make these figures sell out in advance.
No, Richochet was only for attendee packages, non-attendee packages do not get them. I also doubt these are going to dealers purchasing the 2005 set, as the money they would lose on the box set could not be made up with the attendee bonus.
