Demand continues to outstrip supply for BotCon items and registrations! All of the free attending figures (Ricochet) have now been spoken for. Any dealers or attendees registrations received between April 1st and the event will not receive the free attending figure. Supplies are exhausted. Cut off for Pre-registration is April 10. After that date, you will need to come to Late Registration Friday morning at 9:30. You can still come to the show under these options: 1) Primus Substitute which will include the 2005 BotCon Boxed Set Descent into Evil - at the reduced cost of $250 for Club members, $300 for non-members. (You will not receive the free attending figure.) Loose sets are also available for $130 for Club members and $165 for non- members. 2) Energon Package includes admission to all events (just like the Primus Package, including the Casino Night Awards Dinner) a convention badge, pin and comic/program (no toys). The Energon Package is $180 for Club members, $230 for non-members. 3) Protoform package which includes a convention badge, pin and comic/ program and admission to everything except the the Casino Night Awards dinner (no toys). Cost is $120 for members and $170 for non members. 4) General Admission Saturday or Sunday $10 (each day) for Adults and $5 for Children (4 and & under are free). Tickets are available at the door. Thank you, once again, for your support! We look forward to seeing you in Cincinnati!
Wow. Is this a precedent? I don't really remember the free figure ever being all spoken for before. This will make my search for a second Ricochet interesting.
Congratulations on having such an in demand product and what looks to be a successful show. It is too bad that the figures will not be at the show for purchase this year. After reading that they wouldn't be I decided to cancel my hotel room and sit this year out. Exclusives were not the only reason, more so the deal breaker. I, like everyone else had my shot to secure a set so there are zero hard feelings and wish Botcon best of luck with what should be a great show. I would just hope that in following years there will be enough "attendee" figures for those who attend.
Well, that should be good for people who are looking to cash in their freebie for spending cash. That is what lots of us did with Clear Mirage. It has been a long registration, so if you haven't registered by now I am not sure what you expect.
Unless I've missed something, only the free attendee figure won't be available @ the convention this year. I'm sure that whatever the other figures offered at the show will sell out as well, but nothing I've read indicates that they won't be available that weekend.
As much as this deserves emphasis, I'll be even more impressed when I have some numbers with which to compare demand to previous years.
For clarification (I think you actually know this, and just misspoke), the boxed (and loose) sets are already sold out, too, and therefore also "won't be available @ the convention this year." Of course, you were probably meaning to suggest that the at-convention exclusives are still up for grabs, which of course they would be anyway since there are no "pre-sales" for those. But since the "attendee freebie" isn't something you can get without pre-ordering anyway, it seems important to clarify. In short, there's pretty much nothing for the 2008 BotCon that can be purchased before the convention that hasn't already sold out. (I'm not including the 2005 sets you can still get in this statement.)
Wow, people either A) Really like this set or B) Figure this one'll be worth a lot of $$$, after how last year's set turned out. I regret not getting the Iacon package, but at least I've got a couple Primes accounted for, hopefully I'll also secure Jazz and Rodimus. Darn you, FunPub, now I'm gonna have to buy a set from you ASAP next year!
Well, I meant instead of waiting to see what the figures are like I was doing this year. Soon as those registration sheets are up next year, though, BAM! they're getting faxed out. Unless the theme is something lame like G2 redecos of Movie toys...
