Very nicely done. Reading that the only downsides don't matter to me so it sounds like he's a winner for me.

eh, no where near worth paying exclusive costs for. If it were in stores I wouldn't even think about wanting it.

Is it worth going through the standard reminder (the reviewer notes this, but the thread title sure doesn't) that we still don't know for certain that this is a BotCon exclusive yet? Let alone how many were made or (therefore) how hard it will be to get on the secondhand market.

    Great review.

I think, if ever there was a TF mould that suits Alpha Trion the Vector Prime mould is it.

If I saw it on the shelf I'd run a mile, so making it so hard to get doesn't bother me in the slightest.

If I was going to Botcon this year (assuming it will be an attendee exclusive) I'd snap A.T. up in an instant. Since I'm not, there's a lot more mixed feelings. I like it, but I'm not overly excited about getting it, at least not "500% markup on eBay" excited. It's more an interest for the character's importance to the mythology, and that the character got a reasonable toy, remold though it may be.

Guess I'll have to keep an eye on eBay, and see if a good opportunity pops up once the initial post-BC fervor dies down. Won't be paying the kind of markup I did for '05 Ratchet, that much is for sure.

Hmm. Well, I can't say that I'm really interested outside of the fact that it's Alpha Trion and he's finally got a toy. However, After spending over $300 to get Megatron pre-con last year I don't know if my wallet is up for another 'larger con exclusive' hunt. I suppose if my friend that's getting me a loose Botcon set (can't go myself and missed the non-attendee orders) could pick me up an A3 at cost I'd jump on him. But eBay mark up be damned this time... I don't need him that bad... and he doesn't even look as cool as Megatron did. :(

This "exclusive" only has a little problem: how many BW Megatron do we have, and how many A3?

Well to be fair, this is A3's first transforming toy but it isn't his first figure. Takara came out with a non transforming SPF A3 figure a few years back.

Yeah, the PVC is a nice little thing, but it's too small to interact with other TFs. This one's a better size (if a bit too big for the G1 guys, but hey, G1 scale was always wacky)

Well, that's a good point I guess, but if the demand is high on this guy than he's still going to get expensive on the aftermarket wether there's a lot of him made or not.

True enough, but like Sol said; the PVC can't really interact very well with other TFs save for other PVC figures.

I don't know... I'd like to get this guy, but again, I'm just not sure I'm ready to drop that kind of money on the aftermarket again. I guess I'll just have to see if I want any of the other show exclusives or just this one...
