No kidding. I wouldn't appreciate it either if I were them. The whole Erector campaign was tacky at best.

I'm kind of shocked at the response, given the kind of support they gave him with the videos. Honestly, it was funny once. If these kinds of characters keep getting put up, it kind of spoils the fun. That said, skybite for HoF 2012!

    on the erector issue
"people thought I was being tongue-in-cheek, but I was being serious. we want the characters to get into the HoF to matter to you. If you make a joke of it, it'll be a joke. We did it once, let's not do it again." Archer
    Hope that settles that, lmao

What the hell? The multiverse is in a universe? But I thought the multiverse was just a bunch of universes... ?

    Also, lol @ Erector remarks.

At least Sky-Byte was a fun character in a TV show.

Excellent panel, I look forward to Exiles arriving in my post and it seems all hell has broken loose with TFWiki because of the Aligned continuities being separated from the previous multiverse and the stories by Forest Lee. (Frankly, I think the movieverse media should be a separate multiverse too from the G1/UT crossovers.)

That's why I want him in the HoF. He'd be a great representation for RiD. I love that character. I'm going to lead a serious campaign for Sky-Byte 2012!

To be honest - the whole RiD was a bit rubbish.

2 good things came out of that show. Brave Max toy and Skybyte's character.

He is not HOF quality however.

The Erector campaign went old pretty fast imo, glad to see they don't encourage it.

Well that sounded...terrible. The lame ass fan questions just add insult to injury on this one.

There should be some representation for every era of TFs in the HOF, even if it's not a great era. Sky-Byte is the only good thing about RID and therefore should be in the HOF.

Honestly, though, I think they just need to induct all the obvious ones now. Shockwave, Grimlock, etc. That way, it can just be less obvious fan favorite choices for the fan vote.

Scourge was a good villain, the first proper take on the evil clone concept, and inspired a ton of repaints that have all shared his colors. Skybyte is a neat character, but let's be fair, his only claim to fame is that he's a rhyming shark. If he had the same excellent character development as Dinobot it would have been another story. And he's not even as beloved as Waspinator is...

It's a matter of perspective. If your a prime fan, it rocked. A lot of cool stuff came out from prime. If your a movie fan, some stuff showed up but not much. I can see that being a bit of a disappointment. We should have a huge reveal within a month, though. Generations fans, I can see being way disappointed, but we've had an amazing year. I think it's time for generations to take a break.

As for me, I liked it. The prime stuff sounds amazing. I also love we're getting a new unicron with amazing paint aps for $60. MP Rodimus looks really great to me as well. To each his own, I guess.

Pretty sure that remark (that undoubtedly was not verbatim) meant that this is the story and fiction panel, not the toy panel.

And yeah, they interact with (the fans at the convention) by showing them internal document stuff and talk about fiction stuff that they would otherwise not have the chance to see or hear (outside of BotCon and perhaps any Vault-type book). This sort of panel is for the benefit of people who are actually at the convention.

There will always be toys, and you will see them eventually. It's not like because you don't see toys right now/they aren't talking about them that there will somehow be less toys out this year.

Most of the story, fiction and continuity-related questions were fine (except the guy who went on about Dark Energon) for the context of this panel. It's the toy questions that were out of place.

This is the sort of panel where you ask Hasbro nerd stuff that you can normally only ask them about during the increasingly infrequent website Q&A, not to ask them for the fifty millionth time if they'll do a G1 Classics style Arcee. That bloody question is the new "Will you reissue G1 Megatron?"
