Those heads look bad from the pictures. I don't like the deco either for both Runners. Eh. Oh well.

Odd they didn't go for a Deadlock repaint of the Drift mold. I don't see the appeal in Shattered Glass anything though.

    Runabout & Runamuck = Badass.

SG Drift, while I appreciate the homage to Drift, I'm sick of SG figures.

I'm pretty fucking pissed that Botcon has a bias against Animated. Absolutely no reason to refuse further Animated exclusives. I guess I should be happy we got some at all.

my issue is once again we lose canon characters to Funpubs. we'll end up with the same mess we had with the seekers.

only if we're very lucky will we see a hasbro version in about 3-5 years time.

Isn't it a bit early for an homage to Drift? And does it count as an homage if it's the same mold? :lol

Or did you mean Dead End? Because that's who he reminds me of, somewhat.

I plan on getting all three. But I have a question: What is on the roof/chest of Runabout and Runamuck? A Decepticon logo in a square?

By "canon" you mean "popular enough that I want to own it, but not at a premium cost." Every character is a canon character. I'm pretty sure Landshark is the only completely new character that FunPub has come up with

no by canon i mean directly canon to G1/Animated/beastwars/unicron triology

I have no problem with characters from completely new universes like shattered glass and expanded universe characters. (it's why i could let the prequal Beastwars slide)

but i hate when funpub releases stuff that directly correspond to a canon character that has yet to be released in any of the current mainstream lines, like the characters in the games of deception set and the G2 redux sets as that means there is a good chance that those characters will never get released at retail level (the seekers seem to be the exception in part due to the takara created molds)

to be honest i'm not blaming Funpubs, i'm blaming hasbro for it. as they seem to have this problem making use of these characters.

Again, I think it bears repeating that there is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING stopping Hasbro from making brand new versions of the Battlechargers when they dern well feel like it.

But right now, fans want more (MOAR) Classics, Hasbro isn't planning on doing anything in regards to those two characters in the next year or two, so FunPub is filling a perceived need in the fandom.

We aren't loosing anyone, heck, 2009 gave us a new Kup AND scourge, and what did we just get in early 2011? Brand new Kup AND Scourge.

I'm super into Shattered Glass Drift. Only fitting that his opposite is based on a beloved comic book character...

Hasbro does what Hasbro needs to sell toys at retail. G2 characters have NEVER been a priority, and if you think for a second we were EVER going to get Autobot Spark, or Clench, or Sky-Byte, or Deathsaurus or Transtech Cheetor or even G2 Ramjet or Action Masters Thundercracker at retail as they currently exist, you are deluding yourself.

Even in the case of the seekers, Hasbro did a damn good job in that even if characters were used in prior Botcon sets (like Ironhide), then their retail offerings were either significantly or at least noticeably different from the con figures

note i never said there is no chance we won't get those characters, but for the most part the chances of them turning up are slim, and will be years away.
