1) I've never been to TFCon, but I assure you that BotCon is bigger. It's the biggest TF show in the world.
2) It's not required, but if you are a serious buyer, you want to try and be there for the Friday sales hours in the afternoon. As a G1 collector, you might be looking for harder to find items and some (at least the cheaper ones) will be gone by Saturday.
3) I am not going to try and estimate a % breakdown, but all save a very few Domestic G1 releases will be available at the show, plus a wide range of Imported G1 releases. There will be toys there that you would rarely even see on Ebay.

 

I wonder if I might find my chromed Kaltor at this years BotCon.

 

Official Fan Club and Botcon

A question for those who know:

Is it worth joining the official fan club for the Botcon package discounts? I havent been to a Botcon since Raleigh but I am certainly going to Orlando.

well another week down and NOTHING about botcon reg. the wait is killing me

 

Ok so we have the first reveal of the 5 that are coming and it's G2. but still no registration...

I was looking at pics of the 2009 Botcon and the lines scared the crap out of me.

Those long lines are for the general admission, right? If you pre-pay and register in advance, then it's not as bad, correct?

 

That's right, general admission took forever. I'm registering this year solely to avoid the lines.

 

Will I still be able to buy Movie/Animated toys with the basic $10 admission fee ?!?!?!?!

 

Yea, you can get into the dealer room and panels (as long as there is room). I'm sure you won't have a problem finding what you want.

Actually, even if you pre-reg, you will still get to enjoy plenty of line standing. Line to pick up your package, line for the club store, line for the evening event, line for autographs...

Yea, there are even lines to get into lines! It sounds worse than it actually is. My wife and I met a lot of cool people and shared different stories, so time kinda flies.

 

Will any of the exclusive figures be availible for purchase without having to be there?

 

Yes and no.


Unless you find someone to get a set for you there will be an upcharge(bbts,ebay).

Of course if the set is really good the price will skyrocket.
