Botcon 2010 IDW Publishing panel - Transformers News
TRIPLE CHANGING ANIMATED MEGATRON IN ALLSPARK ALMANAC 2?!?!?!?!?!?
FUCK YEAH CAPS LOCK.
That was the only good news out of that panel. Overall this has been a pretty boring event this year.
No plans to do a comic continuation of Animated at this time???
It makes sense. monthly comic probably wouldnt sell this long after animated has wrapped. but a TPB would work, I think.
but really, that wouldnt be done either. the last thing IDW is concerned with lately is pleasing their readers, wreckers and ironhide aside.
Good. That's all I ask
I'm glad to hear it, as well.
Too bad they won't do a Transformers Animated continuation comic
Also I wish they would let Marcello Matere do a Robot Heroes series. His take on that was awesome - plus he designed most of the toys.
Big fan of Roche Roberts and will buy anything they do. Would like to see them continue Wreckers/Kup/Fort Max/Overlord plot lines. Maybe Verity could unite with Fort Max to become a headmaster?
Sweet - and not withe the but ugly faces that we had to look at during the first part of ongoing. Make our transformers appealing IDW, that is all I ask
Ditto. I want a uniform art style that is not based off of Don's movie-g1 hybrid design. God I hate that style.
We all thank you for that IDW, took you long enough!
I get the feeling they'll mess up design continuity somehow just because it's something fans have been clamouring for, like they did the Beastwars Sourcebooks and Continuum. I fear we'll see an end to characters who've never appeared before getting redesigns so are stuck with weak toy/animation model based forms like sticklegged Pounce in AHM 7.
Great news on the Roche/Roberts getting more work, hopefully it'll be every bit as good as LSoTW. ^.^
That what they "imply", on of the artist like to work from the toys, so if it has a toy or will be getting one. Expect the design to change LOL!
Drift for example.....
I don't mind if they're drawn as new toys as they tend to be decently proportioned at least, it's when they end up drawn as their 1980's toy like Pounce was that I have a problem with as they preserved everything that was bad about the toy's design.
A house style based on the first six issues of ongoing would be top stuff
I'd never touch the book again.
Please, god, no. I prefer my G1 styled TFs to actually look like G1 characters. If I want movie stuff, I will buy Nefarious or any other movie related comics.
And this we can agree on .
I thought the different styles thing was fun. It's certainly weird, especially with Blurr driving off from Ongoing into Bumblebee's series and looking totally different. But I feel like I'm expanding my mind. It forces me to think more about the characters and story, and less about little details. As long as the art is GOOD, I don't care if it looks different between books.
Separately, what's the deal with Nefarious? I didn't quite understand. No more stories taking place after Nefarious?
different styles are fun
different designs within the same time-frames are not
which is what i hope they mean
Separate names with a comma.
