    Awesome. Stan rocks.

But, this is not really a news story. It would be news if Stan DID NOT attend a Botcon.

Geez, stop with the Stan Bush hating. He's a really nice guy and his concert at the Paramount Party at last year's BotCon was awesome.

And some people, I'm sure, have never had the chance to meet him in person.

    Rock on Stan Bush!

He'll always have a place in my heart, and it's a real treat to see him at BotCon. Not that I can afford to head there myself, but it's always a treat to see old TF legends.

    Well, here's the inevitable:

Botcon newbies like me have never met Stan Bush before. :D

I think that whether or not you like the guy or his music, it's hard to say he isn't an iconic person in the Transformers world. He wrote and preformed the song that could be considered to be the Transformers theme song in a way, in the sense that people probably recognize it as that Transformers song.

Besides, what other music performers could we get for Botcon? Weird Al Yankovic? Not that I would mind, I loved Wreck-Gar. :p

He is a very nice person and I wish him nothing but the best. It was great to hear him perform last year live at The Paramount party and to get his and Vince's autographs!

Botcon should be so lucky to get Weird Al Yankovic. Talk about a hell of a show! The Weird One gets my vote ANY day.

As for Stan Bush... I used to enjoy his music a lot. I downloaded every single mp3 I could find of his, and I also bought quite a few of his LPs. (I still have his self-titled LP and the TF'86 soundtrack LP.) But he left a hell of a bad taste in my mouth when he tried to "update" the old song to get on the soundtrack. It was insulting to me.

And now, when I listen to his music, I have the image of old Stan, creepy guitar man, and goofy ass white rapper. It borders on repulsion, and it's a reaction I've had to very few other artists. It's such that now when his music comes up on shuffle, I hit skip immediately.

I kinda resent him for that, because "Touch" and "Dare" were some very guilty pleasures for me (c'mon, let's admit they were really shitty but catchy songs) and now I can't listen to them.

So even if I did get to go to Botcon this year, I'd be giving his appearance a miss.

Thats a shame, I wish I could go to meet him. I liked his work in the original TF cartoon movie (I'm sure he gets that a lot) but his latest venture trying to update the song shouldn't have been done. He should have started from scratch. All in all its a shame I can't meet him and everyone else that will be there.

He did a mean everything last year. He, Holger, and Vince rocked!

I just listened to In This Life again on a drive this weekend. I love it. The songs are all super-sappy rock ballads and anthems, firmly and unapologetically stuck in the sound of the '80s.

All you crabbypantses make me sad.

Why does Stan always seem to have nothing going on at this time of the year? A mere coincidence? Maybe he's getting inducted into the TF HOF? I wouldn't be totally shocked if it happened... :lol
