Given that I routinely see the Botcon 2007 boxset on ebay going for around $1,400 and other sets like 06 and 08 for 800-900. Then yeah. Ridiculous as it seems, pre-registering for the convention is likely your cheapest option for the boxset.

Of course, the set's appeal could always nosedive and the prices on the secondary market won't be super ridiculous, but that's not something you can bank on.

That said, if you only want one or two figures out of the set, you might be better off waiting until after the convention and just hunting the figures you wanted. But yeah, if you want the whole box... you should probably pre-reg.

If you were a club member you'd save $30 on it.

It's $40 to become a member, and if you're a member, the set costs $305 instead of $375 (plus the $10 registration fee).

    Non-member price = $385
    Member price = $315 + $40 to become a member = $355

Botcon registration has the option of registering for a lower price, but if you do that, you don't get the toys, and you sound like you want the toys.

This assumes, of course, that primenemesis lives in the U.S. Memberships for other countries cost more.

My wife's Mini-Con package was processed earlier in the week. They charged me another $10 fee even though it technically wasn't done through their online registration. Would they have charged it if I had faxed my request rather than email it? Kinda seems like they double-dipped on that one... Did this happen to everybody else?

^ How did you register for the Mini-Con package, if not through the site?

The site's registration kept giving me an error anytime I tried adding the Mini-
Con package, so I asked about it on the club forum and was told add-ons had to be requested via email or fax. I called FP to verify and was directed to email somebody named Angie with my request. I received a reply from Angie via email telling me add-ons would be processed the following week. She called me a week later to ask if I wanted the Mini-Con on the same credit card as my Primus package. I said yes and confirmed I'd get the member pricing since it had been a problem earlier on. I later received another email confirming my Mini-Con request and saw they had charged $10 for an "online processing fee".

That's a complete load of crap then, LemonPrime. If it were me, I'd contact them and insist on a $10 refund.
