East Coast would be nice, somewhere between VA and NYC.

hey how about we have it up ur butt this year.

They should just have it in the exact population-weighted center of the USA. That seems fair.

Anyway good to hear that they'll be announcing it soon. Although it seems kind of redundant to announce that they're making an announcement in a week. Just come out and say it.

    Titchy? :p

Population weighting and location was one of the reasons that BotCon was in Fort Wayne, IN for as many times as it was. The Hartmans are Hoosiers, and Ft. Wayne is something like an 8 hour drive from 60 percent of the US population, or some such.

Today's population center is in Missouri so the suggestion of St. Louis would fall there.

And yeah, I'm not a fan of announcing an announcement about a future announcement for the final announcement.

I'm kind of with Backscatter on this one. Botcon just isn't doing it for me right now.

normally i dont go (broke =[ ) but im interested this year, between being old enough to go by myself, being more into transformers than ever before, talk of a "lost generation" or something being revived (meaning more newish stuff!) and serisously considering a cool Radicon thing i want to make, i cant think of a better time for me to go

Call me biased, but I have always thought Nashville, TN is perfect for this. It has the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center/Hotel (huge shows are held there all the time), so everyone could literally come and go from the show to their room without ever leaving the building! Nashville has three interstates which intersect and it has an international airport. Plus, it's very close to being the center of population center for 3/4 of the US population.

Travel does not bother me, so I'm not begging anyone to put this in my backyard. I just really believe that Nashville is a good choice.

Orlando also has tons of convention space, plus Disney/ Universal for extra fun. 1st Southeast Botcon FTW.

It's never been in Hawaii; maybe they'll do it there this year!

(I'm hoping New England area, though)

At the very least, I wouldn't mind it in Nashville, TN either. Not that bad of a trek.

If Orlando's good enough for Celebration V (Star Wars convention) then it should be good enough for Botcon.

I am up for this too. Drop the wife off at her mother's and spend the weekend drunk at the convention center and it will still count as a vacation.
