Yup, guess this confirms we'll be getting 1 (or 2) Sweeps repaints. Nice color scheme for them, different enough from Scourge's while still familiar enough to look like they're from the same unit.

Also, is Grimlock holding a Petrorabbit doll? Or is that a throwback to Bucky O'Hare?

 

still makes me wonder if there are going to be scourge repaints as sweeps offered...the comic seems to lend to that...nice teaser though!

 

Hmmmm....so this is one of Kup's war stories which is being told during the Decepticon attack during the 86 movie.

And the Decepticons were around long before the Great War and before Megatron became their leader?

 

Well, considering that most of what is shown is a version out of Transformers the movie that is used to segway into a flashback (where the real story of the convention set is)... I can't really say much. It's intriguing at it's start, but I can't say much more then that really. It's not bad, but I'm not going to say much more then that without seeing more of the actual story. I honestly feel a little indifferent about it actually... maybe if the three page segway wasn't part of the preview and we got a little bit more on the actual story I'd have a slightly different opinion about it.

Edit: Hmm... for not wanting to say much I sure typed a lot... guess I just naturally thing too much about written material...

 

Cool, I like how the Sweeps are teal so we can differentiate them from Scourge. In fact, I'm willing to bet a Sweep will be the free attendee exclusive.

I'm definitely guessing a version of Scourge with teal replacing blue will be the attendee bonus figure as a "Sweep".

So that makes Razorclaw, Skyquake, Leozak, and the assumed 4th souvenir figure as the Elite Guards' foes on Beta-Nine.

 

Well, that explains how Scourge gets to be there, and retain his origin. I like how you've got the current Universe toys for existing characters, too.

Nice use of the two artists and their unique styles, too. Really separates out the two strands of the story.

 

The sweeps look very similar to the Noisemaze Mass Production colors.

 

Interesting. better than i expected so far, and a lot of people were spot on with the guess of kup telling the story while under attack.

 

lol at Vangelus basically being right about the comic.

Also my guess is that the decepticons to go after the container will be Skyquake, Liozack and Razorclaw (whether we see any other predators or members of the breast force is another matter though)

I wonder what's in the cargo that's so important. Decepticon prisoners?

 

Guess we know see our Freebie this year. is The Predacon the contents of the crate? Hmmm.

 

I thought it was great. The exchange between Grimlock & Hot Rod is exceptional.  

 

Yeah - very clever in keeping Scourge's origin consistent.
