Damn that date and location. I don't think there is a chance that I'm going. Oh well, I really wanted it in RI or Philly. :cry

Umm...it's definetly more than 3 states over from the last Botcon, which was in Rohde Island.

Long time fan, first time poster.

First I am a resident of the Northern Kentucky Area, which means I am exactly 20 minutes from Cincinnati. There is a ton of stuff to do in Cincinnati, but I will warn you all. I work for the Airline who has a crushing headlock on this community. Lexington, Louisville both in Kentucky and Dayton Ohio are around 1.5 hours away from Cincinnati. If you are looking for cheap airline tickets those are the places you want to fly into honestly. If you come into Cincinnati you are going to get raped on ticket prices.

Anything in the Northern Kentucky area is within driving distance and is considerably cheaper.

What can I expect from Botcon, I am a big fan of Transformers but am not into the "community" what is there to do at this con? I do normal gaming cons but not this one, I do plan on attending a day or 2. Should I save up abunch of cash for hot new toys for my collection or what?

Just booked a Double Double for Weds-Sun at the $135/night rate for all 4 nights. Though I booked online. Are people getting told $135/night not available for Saturday calling by any chance, instead of booking online?

I wish they would hold it in Philly. But I thought I had read that the BotCon folks said they would never hold it in Philly because rooms were too expensive? Which is a complete crock.

Oh the irony. Leftover student loan money laying around itching to be blown on something irresponsible...and I can't go b/c it's too close to end of semester crunch time. Lame. Ah well...at least I can still blow some of that money on the toys if they're cool enough.

Booked, but they told me that Sunday night is no longer available for the Botcon rate. Now all I have to do is talk the wife into going and enduring many days of geekiness.

From Rhode Island's corner on a drive, you would travel to Conneticut, New York, and Pennsylvania to get to Ohio, thats 3, 5 if you include the states you are leaving and arriving in. I aced Geography and other classes most people hated. :thumb  Whats there to do in Cincy? Come on people convince my wife there is something to do.

I was really hoping for Ohio. Just far enough from home to make it feel like I am away but close enough to drive in a few hours.

Yeah, but most smart people cut through West Virginia for like 15 miles lol.

Oh, for 4 days, there is tons to do. Zoo, Aquarium, a great place downtown called the Cadillac Ranch....

    WAIT!

That is it, the official TFW2005 (and Collector's Club boards) hotspot will be the Cadillac Ranch! TRUST me, open patio, right off 6th street (or 5th)....Anyways, you want a place for drinking, for driving the locals crazy with the 'Arrrrrrr's, then that is the place.

    First round is on....Kickback!

    Ha!
