At least I'll come back in fanfiction for years to come! And probably some nasty pictures too.

Awesome I'm there. I think it's a good location this year and easy to get to by both land and air, so lots of options this year. More importantly its good to finally have a date now to work with to make the necessary arrangements.

Awww! Looks like I'll be missing out on the fun of going to the convention three years in a row. Guess I'll just have to start saving now for the non-attending box set instead. Don't want to be caught with my pants down like last year...

Not to be a total downer, but that's not a DVD you'd find in the front of the "NEW AND POPULAR" section at your local smut store. Those who have attended know what I'm talking about.

Guys, they are ALREADY BOOKED as far as doubles go on the night of Saturday the 27th. If you want to stay at the Hyatt, you'll have to pay a regular weekend rate of $150-ish for that night.

But yeah, I'm definitely going, considering it's only about a 2 1/2 hour drive.

    YAY! I love Cincinnati!

    Room reserved!

This'll be my fourth visit there, so I already know the place and the places-to-buy toys in. I'll probably go a week early so I can go to The Earth Toy Mall. :)

Very worth it, unless you want to attend the tours or the classes.

    :lol

    Well ... there's a Hustler store in downtown. :confused2

J/K. IIRC near the hotel there's a couple of shopping centers, and 2 blocks south there the different local teams stadiums.

Don't know about museums and the like, but I know P&G HQ is nearby ... though I don't think that counts as a tourist attraction (my sister works in P&G and is partly the reason I've been to Cincy already)

On the toy front, there's: http://www.theearthtoymall.com/

You can go there and see probably the same type of toys you'll see at the convention. :p

(The Earth was also a Botcon dealer in '06)

Hey! No dissing on the Reds! That's the team of venezuelan player Dave Concepcion (his number was retired this year) who still has a shot at the Hall of Fame. And IIRC Alex Gonzalez plays there as well ... Alex Gonzalez is one of the Short Stops from the bestest baseball team in the World ... Caracas Lions! :D
    </ass kissing mode>

So, like Karl said it'll be in Pete's backyard. :p

You are in for a treat. Fountain Square is pretty cool. There are places to eat filling
everyones taste (although not so kind on your wallet). The Zoo is second only to San Diego's (although I've been to both and like Cincy's layout better). The Reds will be playing by then (schedule might be out, not sure if they are home or away that weekend) not to mention their Hall of Fame (voted second only to Cooperstown). The Natural History Museum is cool, as is the Art Museum. Also might want to try and book a cruise on B&B Riverboats. As mentioned, Newport on the Levee (a walking bridge connects the two cities, as does multiple car bridges) is also cool and has many more Eats, not to mention AMC movies & a 1st class Aquarium.

Something tells me Gryph hasn't been behind the wheel very long...

The Convention Center sits on Central Ave and 4th.
Central Ave is basically the West border of the downtown city grid
(with I-75 next door). Central Ave goes in both directions...
The next street moving East you drive South, the next street- North and so on.
Same goes for all numbered streets (they travel East/West.)
You start at the river... Second street is both ways.
Third- East. Fourth- West and so on (the only snafu is 8th which is called Garfield Pl. and goes both ways).
    Not very complicated at all.
There is parking galore (thought very little is free) most of which is not very expensive.

    BTW,
HELLS YEAH! I am SO there, ummm... here!

    See you all in April!

    EDIT:
You may want and book your flight thru Louisville or Dayton (both within an hours drive).
Cincy is Delta's 2nd major hub (especially for businesses) and is noted for the highest airfares in the country. Just my two cents...

I would plan on at least $1000 once you factor in all your costs (hotel, food, travel, convention reg., souvenier figures) + whatever you spend in the dealer room + whatever you spend on booze.

In other news, woot! Got in!

The Earth has a bunch of Botcon stuff right now. The ones I can recall are both the Deathsaurus and BW sets, Sentinel Maximus, the two viper car sisters, catscan, and cyclonus. They've been there for awhile. So there's a decent chance of at least some of it still being there by then.

And you'd be wrong. I've been driving for several years now. I meant it would suck for people who've never been here before.
