Pete--This is probably a question you can't answer, but I thought I'd ask anyway...

Any chance you guys have approached Diamond Select about having one of their Transformers busts as a Botcon exclusive? MOST of their line of busts are exclusive to a website and limited to 250-500 pieces. I would imagine they could easily sell a LOT more than that with a Botcon exclusive bust. In addition, it's one more exclusive to get collectors excited about Botcon, and a chance for easy publicity and new collectors for Diamond Select ... Just a thought...

    Great question MaxGoof!

I'm bummed that I won't be able to attend this year, but I'm thrilled so far of the potential for this set. Yeah, the story sounds a bit corny right now...but I'm sure they will flesh it all out in the end. As for the toys, all mold I love. Goldbug...didn't see that one coming. CYB Starscream will be interesting. I thought more people would be happy to hear they were using this mold since it was only released in that limited TRU double pack. The whole Razorclaw Mini-Con stumps me though. Why a Mini-Con when we've already seen Razorclaw in the FP fiction depicted as a Leobreaker redeco? Assuming this Razorclaw is based off G1 that is. Sucks if you're a Mini-Con/Micron completionist...but then again how many Microns were ultra limited in Japan?

Bottom line, I'm excited to see the final product and I'm so glad my eBay auctions last week were so successful...no going into debt to afford the exclusives this year!!

So it's connected to Classics as much as AEC is connected to Classics (since that's where the club freebies came from).

Excellent. I like to keep my shelves somewhat organized... I've got all of the movie figures (the ones IN the movie) on a shelf. I've got all of the BW Dinobots on one. All of the AEC Terrocons. Beast Wars shelf (ones in the actual show). Etc. The classics have grown so much they take up huge section with the six seekers on a shelf on the wall above the case.. When I get everything reorganized, I should probably take a picture of my displays.. :D

    Thanks
    Chris

I am very excited about this set. I am a big fan of alternative universes and different perspective on things. This is like Earth-3 from DC comics and would bring in some very interesting stories if they allow this continuum to interact with the Classic lines for example

Ah good, a repaint set. Now I wont be so angry this time around because I can't afford to go to these things. Now I can wait for the new releases this year and spend my hard earned money on the Classic 2.0 stuff!!!

what exactly does that mean? Every Botcon toy ever has been a repaint (with occasional remolds), even, strange as it may seem, Thundercracker!

I have a newbie question about the bagged set. When these are sold as a 'first come first served basis' does that mean the first 200 registration forms (that want them), or the first 200 people at the convention itself?

    Thanks in advance

It clearly says in the brochure Optimus Prime, not Nemesis Prime. And Pete has said multiple times that there is no Nemesis Prime.

Actually, he is Optimus Prime. He is not a clone, not some variation, he is Optimus 100%...

    Edit: Thanks Joe!
