Good idea. Always liked the toy and his character too.  

Overkill got some exposure in the 3. Transformers vs. GI Joe comic by Devil's Due - he almost killed Hawk while babbling (yes, he talked!) about strange stuff, like when the Cons take over Cybertron he'll have a "harem full of femmebots... blue ones, red ones..." (a pretty disturbing picture) then Snake-eyes stabbed his sword through his eyes, and he died yelling "Come back here! I don't need to see...!"

Does anyone recall ever seeing any of these custom toys from the classes being sold or auctioned off in the past?

 

I thought it was part of the deal that they couldn't sell them or else the class would be stopped...or maybe it was they couldn't sell the sprues.

 

I believe it was the unassembled figures on the sprues. But I have never seen them for sale either (I didn't look much though). The good thing is, that the figure is Classics Grimlock with different paint. So with some research, patience, and skill it is possible to do one yourself.

Wait, so it's gonna be called Overkill, but be colored exactly the same as Classics Grimlock? Then...wouldn't that just make him Grimlock then???

What he means is the mold was cast in the same original colors as the first Classics Grimlock, but never had his paint apps put on.

Look at last year's Inferno custom toy, built from Scavenger. Still a red toy.

 

i think only the painted parts that grimlock had will be painted overkill colors... all the rest will remain the same

Meh - I'm kinda the killjoy who can't see the point in customs. This to me is a waste of a perfectly good toy. But have fun ya'll who are gonna do it.

 

Neat, but thankfully not a must have considering that Hasbro has told FP to make sure no one sells these or they'll never allow classes like this again. Thankfully, I wasn't that interested in Inferno or Rumble from last year either.

Still, if I was going I'd definently pay the extra to sign up for the class as it seems like a lot of fun.

Are you sure? Cause that's totally wacked. The idea of this big-out customs class is for the attendees to do the painting and customizing, so it's not like Hasbro customized it.

So I don't see any point, legal or otherwise, to outlaw the selling. Besides, I can't see people selling it after paying the customizing fee and the memories of doing it yourself.
