No. Consdering Astrotrain hasn't been released yet, and Megatron fits the theme of this year's BotCon...
That is one beautiful toy The mould actually fits him very well and the remoulds they've done to it are pretty spiffy. I approve yessssss!
Looks great! I want it..... I crave it... it shall (hopefully) be mine. IIRC, Red Alert's BFShoulderCannon is removable, so just imagine Megs left his shoulder cannon with his rubber ducky during that opening shot. -airfox
I do respectfully disagree. I think it is. I was too lazy to go find the toy itself, but I *did* check via pics.
The colors look pretty dead on too, but I may be wrong and was too lazy to actually go get Megsy. We do need bigger, clearer pics.
hey if anybody would be so kind to let me know if they are going to botcon since i cant to possibly grab me the megatron and astrotrain if they are exclusive, i would be willing to work out an agreement, I NEED THEM!!! please let me know, or if there is already a topic like this.
Dude, it seriously wouldn't fit on this mold, and that's if we ignore the issues with different parts connecting the heads to the bodies. CD Red Alert's head is definitely smaller than Ultra BW Megatron's, and when you take into account the CD Red Alert's transformation, the BWR head wouldn't be able to fit in its hole when in vehicle mode. They just did a good job making the new head spot-on Megatron, that's all.
Comparing the pic to one on Remy's site of BWR Megs, I do think they're quite close, but not the same. To me, BC Meggy's eyebrow ridge, forehead crest, and cheek protrusions are proportionately larger, and he's not as much of a flat-top. (Can't comment on size, though.)
You can respectfully disagree all you like. It's not the same head. If you look at the the BW Reborn Megatron, or even the original BW Megatron, figures in your hand you'd know that head would never fit on the CD Red Alert. It's a new head.
Yeah, it's definitely a brand-new head. It doesn't look anything like any of the previous Megatron heads. Vaguely, yes, but details..general shape. No. Just..no. No previous version of Megs has had brow ridges that protrude so far from the helmet itself.
Yeah, since I have the BW reborn figure in hand and with a little photoshop on the pics provided, it does look different--I say the face looks alot closer like the show's TM design with the more pronounced cheekbones and sinister grin compared to BWR's somewhat silly smirk expression (not that I don't like it still ).
When astrotrain was revealed, it was hinted at that the second exclusive might have some sort of connection with the botcon set this year. Also, the second exclusive is under production. So it's not a definite no.
Besides, the botcon organizers have never said a pre-BW mode figure couldn't be a club exclusive, so with that being said, of course there is a chance it could be available from the club.
You know I was not sold on the concept, then the fact that most were Cybertron molds souered me on the the idea more, then some of the pics leaked out and I was Meh (Aside from Flipchanger Waspinator I LOVE Flipchanger Jets!) then the Robot mode of Megatron hit. I'm sold, I will have to get this set, even though I am cutting back on my collecting, this set is fucking cool.
BAH... now I'm forced to go to Botcon if I want that Megs. I don't even want to think about how much that will go for on eBay after the convention. If it's a club rather than a con exclusive, I hope they let us know soon... ...damn I need more shelf room...
Meg did not turned out as well as I'd imagined. (Sigh!) Would very much prefer to have him done up using CD Scattershot's mold instead.
