Es BUENO… YAY:

- Getting to meet new board members.
- My crazy friends from NY & LA, Tony, Fran, Joe, Barbie, Rik, Kicky, Hitches, Mazy, Colin, Tricky, Draven, aksmth, Shaun_C, the Autocon crew, Jon & Karl Hartman, Tomoya… Thank you! You made the convention memorable on many different levels.
- Archer hooking me up with a nice memento from the Hasbro booth after the convention. Gracias amigo!
- Being a dealer for the very first time. I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did. Handing out free comics to all of the little kids that passed by the table was cool.
- Made some OK money that’ll be put to good use for our new home.
- Hyatt Bar, McCarthy’s, The Dame, Tookeys ($10 all you can drink), Longhorn Steak House… thanks for the GREAT times and memories.
- My insanely small Darth Vader costume.


Es MALO... BOO:

- Getting up, hung over, and having to be downstairs by 8:00AM every day. I looked and felt like bloody hell in the mornings.
- The long ass drive back home. I felt like someone had beaten me with a baseball bat repeatedly.

I can't wait for next year!

 

The Good:

- Meeting people. Without a doubt. People I have been chatting to online for years (and some I haven't), hanging out with them and having a great laugh all weekend long, making it feel like it was over in a flash.

- Paul Hitchens invited me out there and basically did everything for me, made it a great holiday/trip and made it all possible.

- Meeting the guys from my own old online group: Himawari, Crazysteve, Curt, Brett, Mr Z, Lewis, Northern, Fred, Galen etc That was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed that and it was as good as I always thought it would be. The Hartmans were awesome as well, had lots of time and were good company.

- McCarthy's, as Elvin said, on Saturday night, what a blast. Absolutely hilarious night. Unforgettable

- The lads. Paul, David, Raymond, Doug, Tony Preto, Tomoya, Elvin and his crew: Jose, O'Neill, Esteban and Pena himself, Alex, Kickback, Joe Moore, James the T-shirt Dude...awesome guys all of them, made it well worth the trip out there.

- Marcelo Matere. What a diamond guy. Had so much time for me, I bought tonnes of artwork off him and Alex Milne was awesome as well, got a special item off him too. I'm crazy for box artwork and now have quite a set thanks to these guys and Guido of course from before. And thanks to Paul for hooking me up with these guys.

- The show, not a moment to spare. Never bored, always something happening. Fantastic, this is how it should be done. A great atmosphere all weekend long.

- Paul's panel. Lord knows why he asked me to go up with him considering I sat there watching the pictures like everyone else!

- What I bought, and what everyone else bought. Can't believe how much I spent. I got some amazing things and so did almost everyone else I knew as well. Lovely to see.


The Bad

- The fact that it seemed to be over so fast.
- The fact that I live on another continent to most of the above guys and may well not make it to BotCon next time around as a result.
- Jetlag. Otherwise I could have joined in the fun on Thursday and Friday night as well instead of passing out from exhaustion..

Me and the group I was with had dinner with Scott McNeil, Richard Newman, and Ben Yee at Cracker Barrel. BEAT THAT.
