Assuming that BotCon '06 is in the late September range. That leaves us with 9 months

And last year announcements started IIRC either in January or Feburary

Personally I'm starting to save my $$$ now :D

I would love to have it in KC, MO, but I don't think they will have it here. It's just way too ghetto for their tastes. :lol

Really, I think it might be in Texas again. Didn't they hold the Joe convention down there for a few years while they were getting it off the ground? More then likely they might do the same with Botcon. I mean their office IS located in Dallas. It just makes sense for them, finacially to do it in Texas again.

Everyone wants it in their backyard.:D
I wouldn't mind having it again in Chicago. Great place. Day drive for me. Last year Joe Con was held here in Minnesota so . . .well I'm hoping for BotCon here of course!!! :D
As long as I can drive there in a day I'll be happy. Can't wait for them to announce it of course.

Actually, a quick check at http://www.transformersclub.com/ indicates that the big announcement regarding location for Botcon '05 didn't happen until June. This site indicates June 10th (the day after the club site indicates) and suggests that this is the first the fandom heard of either the date of the convention or it's location.

We'd barely heard that FP got the license in January....

Remember though G.B. I FIRMLY recall reading a general statement on the site. That BotCon would be in the fall of '05 back last January

Maybe official announcements didn't begin till June. But unofficially most Tfans who read the stie would know that the Con would be in fall

Well, at the risk of being just another person wanting it in their backyard... it's always been a surprise to me that it has never been held in Orlando. You've got tons of hotels and convention space, beaches within a 45 minute drive in either direction, plus the Disney, Sea World, and Universal parks. Space Coast attractions, too. Seems like a prime location for a convention plus plenty of additional activities if people want to make a vacation out of it.

It would be nice if they announced it within the next week, as that's my deadline for putting in for my 2, week-long vacations this year.

While it was "late" when we got confirmation last year, everything happened in a condensed timeframe. Supposedly they'll be announcing it "soon". MC/FP were about to sign contracts and announce the location/dates for the 2006 Joe con shortly before Hurricane Katrina, but those plans got changed since New Orleans was the place.

EDIT: Evidently MC confirmed in the new Joe newsletter that their con will be in New Orleans, weekend of June 29th. So now I'd guess a Botcon announcement should be in the next TF magazine newsletter due in early February.
