Here is my attempt at a very detailed & "transformable" Botanica. I decided to take it a step further than the infamous "singing flower in a pot" rendition. The head, arms, and chests are from a Marvel Legends figured. The heads and chest were sawed in half and reattached together to be two sided. The arms were spliced together at the elbow and the shoulders were sculpted smooth on one side. From the hips down, she is scuplted from plumber's putty over an inverted fake champagne glass stem and base. A few aquarium plant parts were added. The "flower" behind her head is a thin styrene sheet (very hard to cut a curving shape and attach!). She was painted with an airbrush and inked to bring out the detail.

That's tremendous! Back-to-back ML Dangers was a very canny choice for the base. How did you get the styrene curved properly like that?

Yep, she was at Botcon, but didn't place.

The styrene was super glued quickly and the I put resin under the neck to hold it permanently.

Wow, that looks great, even though she is a transforming plant. I originally liked the idea of Botanica's crew having to take on plant based alt. modes while Optimus and the rest took the forms of animals, but then I saw how she "transformed" from a slightly robotic plant to a flowery robot. LAME! But I digress... your custom is really sweet though, for what it is (no offense). The paint job is incredible. I wish I could do stuff like that.

What paint brand did you use? That is the best show accurate Botanica I've seen so far!

The metallics from GameWorkshop work well with a airbrush after being thinned down substanially. Unfortunately, the gold paints are too translucent to look nice using brush. The green is a flat dark green from Tamiya with a dusting of bright metallic green from Hobby color. All acrylics.

nice but are you saying botanica HAD a transformation lol no offence at all, I always thought that when she transformed it was her putting her arms in the air since when I saw Beast Machines I could never really tell the difference lol.

She's shiiiiiiiiny. I like how you kept her "transformation" as simple as possible.

But repaint her in black and corpse white, and she wouldn't look out of place in a crew of Cenobites.

I'm not saying you did it wrong. Far from it. I just find the custom job a bit on the macabre side.
