Does anyone else think Megatron looks closer to the movie version than War for Cybertron?

It really seems like ROTF movie figures were the death of fun, complex transformers. They have become less and less collector friendly. I love that they make so much for the lil kids to play with. But, seems like the days are over for people who want a challenge and or figures that look great on a shelf and not much like toys. No new sweet movie figs...oh well

I wonder how much they'll be. I guess my money planned for Prime stuff is going towards this now.

Hmm, sort of see where you are coming from, though I personally see the cannon down the middle and the flat panels to either side. On the flipside, that could be his grill behind his head.

I had no interest in these until Lockdown. As a Lockdown enthusiast, I have no choice but to get one. :D

The figures remind me a lot of the third party "Primars" Figure...
I'm looking forward to seeing them in person... :)

I will have to get one or two just to see what they're all about, as they look pretty nice. I'll have to decide after that if I'll collect more.

I thought it resembled his ROTF tank-thing mode. Kind of looks like he's got the big black treads sticking out the front, and his robot head looks jumbled and broken up, rather than having the traditional 'bucket' style the WFC version used. Of course it's hard to tell from that grainy picture, so I could easily be wrong.

Ah, that one! Hmm, could be, like you say it's a really poor photo. The only other one we've seen was the robot mode from the Robot Kingdom page, which told us very little since it was a generic Megatron robot mode.

A version of him comes with a nice APC that looks like Classics Onslaught's vehicle mode, though that it totally by the by.

Perhaps it's just a generic, G1-esque Megatron that just turns into a tank instead of a gun, then. Optimus looks like he's an amalgam of a few different designs, namely G1 and maybe Armada or the movies for his vehicle mode, so I wouldn't be surprised if Megatron were the same. I can't imagine a gun would have worked well at all for this series.
