Best study ever proves booze really does make life better
Some one get the peppermint shots.....
I don't have much experience with alcohol, being under 18, but sure, I could see alcohol consumption having benefits, physical and emotional. I have no desire to ever become intoxicated, party, or whatever it is kids like to do these days, but I was at a social gathering with my parents the other day, and it was so damn boring I had to fight the desire to take my mother's wine hoping to perk myself up a bit so as not to look like a moody teenager. Giving in to a few sips might have allowed me to enjoy the evening, instead of sitting at my seat on my phone the entire time. It definitely might have made my life at that particular moment more enjoyable. As it was, we left the party early.
Still burns like hell and tastes awful, though.
not to be the feces in the festivities, but the key word here is 'in moderation.'
Hot damn, something to look forward to.
Four beers a day, keeps the bad life away.
I did all my boozing years ago and now I'm more or less out of the game apart from a few drinks at Christmas.
Still, good health, everyone.
Did these scientists happen to check their findings against other factors in these people's lives? I mean seriously, booze makes for a better life? Tell that to my dead aunt, she comitted suicide because she was a alchy with drug problems.
It's all well and good to say that booze helps people have better lives 'in moderation' but we have no damn self control when we get intoxicated. so who's to say we can damn well stop ourselves once we reach the healthy limit day in and day out?
Is there no good science to be done anymore these days? Why are these people wasting their time on these inane studies when they could be challenging the status quo and coming up with new cures for ailments or something.
I wonder how much of this is causation, and how much of it is correlation with other lifestyle trends like being socially outgoing and physically active.
Exactly. I hate articles like this because they don't bring in all the variables that could account for the results.
I always feel better after I get a little Captain in me.
Who am I kidding? A lot of Captain in me
I'll drink to that.
Thread title = DUH
You can't beat a nice large glass of strong Red Wine after a day at work !
Good find man. So in a nutshell, drink up but don't abuse it.
Im curious how their lifestyles were like, if some were more naturally outgoing than others.
Some people just have more spirit than others, and leave a larger wake in life.
Yeah, but I'm not going to start drinking alcohol.
