I have to be honest, I was a bit skeptical about the series, but I'm really enjoying it.

It's a weird balance of that goofy campiness the old series had and a more serious atmosphere that comics usually take.

Anyone read this year's annual? There's a pretty disturbing story in it about Finster killing and resurrecting his wife over and over again.

Does anyone have any pictures of the upcoming oversized hardcover that is supposed to be like the first 15 issues?

I see the one that Barnes & Nobles has up. The Year One Deluxe Edition. Think that's the same one you're asking about.

It pretty much the Green Ranger cover.

Power Rangers Teams Cross Over for the First Time in Shattered Grid Event

"For the first time ever, Power Rangers teams from different eras (and dimensions) will team up in order to battle an evil that threatens them all, no matter which reality they hail from!"

“Call me sentimental, but I love anniversaries. Over the last two years, I’ve been weaving threads in the pages of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, all leading to the 25th anniversary of the franchise,” said Kyle Higgins. “SHATTERED GRID is a massive Power Rangers event that’s both a celebration of the property and also the largest comics story I’ve ever tackled. Lord Drakkon’s plan is so much bigger than our Rangers, our world, and even our universe. The Grid is shattering, every Power Ranger in all of existence is at risk, and it’s going to take more than just the Mighty Morphin team to stand against Drakkon’s armies.”

The key to incorporating Go Go Power Rangers into SHATTERED GRID was making the story integral to the event while never losing the personal stakes of the series—and we are doing that in a really exciting way,” said Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers writer Ryan Parrott, whose series joins the event in April with issue #9. “A fan-favorite Ranger from the future is going to arrive, searching for Drakkon—and end up dividing our team in a very personal way. Thematically, Go Go has always been about examining the past in order to understand the future—and there’s no clearer way of doing that than smashing them into one another in real time.”

Ah, so like the rest of us they're pretending Super Megaforce didn't happen?

Ok Higgins, your mission now is: make RPM fit into continuity somehow that makes sense without the "lolz alternate universe" stuff.

I always just assumed it was the last series before RPM, with Earth being repopulated thanks to the help of aliens and humans colonizing other worlds returning.

I like pretending that Corinth was highly densely populated so that bounceback from the whole Venjix thing didn't take long.

You mean SPD? That actually works pretty well. At least until we hit the actual 2025 PR series (which is making me feel older by the minute) and all of a sudden we have 2 PR series happening simultaneously, but one has aliens living peacefully on Earth.

Issue 24 just came out. It leads into Shattered Grid, which starts next issue.

What's Shattered Grid? Is that a side story?

Honestly, I only have an interest in the main series.

Shattered Grid is the big mega event super crossover that is apparently going to involve all the other teams with time travel shenanigans. Basically, what Super Megaforce should have been. It's going to be taking place in both books.

I mean, it’s a crossover literally between 2 comics, all within the same franchise. I think this is more comparable to something like Dark Cybertron (without the toy-pushing and the deadlines that made it crap) than the typical Big 2 event (or the garbage fire that is Revolution and the Hasbroverse).

So, if you’re already buying MMPR and Go Go PR, then you’re set. It’s 2 comics a month, not an additional miniseries or anything.
