theres no way they just didnt want quick selling stock in the back, trust me. We've sat on hundreds of product which we knew would sell in a matter of hours, because we couldn't put it out. It's ILLEGAL and could cost the chain hundreds of thousands of dollers in fines. Its just someone not doing their job properly
Exactly I've been working at Walmart and we were getting Spider-Man 3 products in the second (?) week of February. Street date wasn't until the end of March. And I recall MANY people hitting TRU and getting said Spider-Man products well in advance of the street date because someone didn't do their job. Chances are VERY good that Hasbro's already shipping movie toys to retailers, given the street date is only a month and half away. Again, a TRU (and probably several others before all is said and done) simply didn't do their job and street dated products were put out early. I would not go freaking out and start hitting stores, there are always incidents like this with toy launches, and the chances of going to any old TRU and getting movie toys is likely slim to none.
TRU launched the spiderman product early because Wal-marts in Ontario did to get a jump on sales, and since head office for TRU canada is in Toronto, they wanted a jump on it to, and figured "screw it, well take the fine" and launched the product. But ya, we had it a good month and a bit before the street date. The movie product is just beginning to ship to us, probably within the next week or two they will be leaving the warehouses.
This was bound to happen. I got the first 32 ROTS figs, the mother of all street dates, before said date. WM had SM3 figs sitting on pallets in the middle of everything for weeks before their date. I opened a case just to look even though I'm not interested in the 5"ers. While I'm kinda surprised this was actually hanging on a peg, I'm not at all surprised about one/a few getting out. Like SM3, they're going to be leaking out all over the place via WM soon enough though.
Whooo, that's a bloody nice figure! The head colour being so obvioulsy different to the body may be the only thing I'm put off by, but the design is superb I reckon. I really like the "Bonecrusher" detail on the back of the vehicle. I didn't think they'd bother with that!
Does G1 STARSCREAMS black head on red, grey, and blue put you off? Any's WOOOTAGE on the mantis shrimp arms!!! Dude must punch like a bullet!
Gotta say, that's the most impressive photo of Bonecrusher seen thus far. The posing is perfection, maybe ready to take that "KILLA YOU GOOD" title away from Barricade.
No, because his 'real' counterpart is similarly coloured with a grey body and black head (odd comparison to make??). Every design sheet and clip of BONERUSHER suggests his head is the same colour as his body and I prefer that the toy reflected that. No big deal: I like the BONECRUSHER toy a great deal regardless. There's also the simple fact that, in my opinion, it would look better if the head was the same colour.
FWIW, the numbers are correct on the receipt, so unless someone went through the trouble of forging that, I'd guess this is legit. Deluxe Bonecrusher is 6-53569-11113-9.
cool, now to get the money for them. and, I am more amazed that he only payed 9.99 plus tax for it. The TrU's by me charges 11.99-12.99 for the deluxes.
Wierd, deluxes at my TRU are $9.99 also, but then again Ultras have always been $29.99. Anyway, fantastic looking bot mode, and I can't wait to see a gallery of him!
*stomps feet* NO FAIR NO FAIR! I want Bonecrusher now, too. Stupid other stores, following Hasbro's rules. AFAIK $29.99 has been the Ultra price at all TRUs since Armada. And at all the ones I've shopped, Cyb Deluxes are/were $9.99, but Classics Deluxes are $12.99.
I call bullshit. One deluxe on the peg? Quick selling stock in the back room so they put it out? That's not just stupid, it's illegal.
Well TRU Canada had just last week done this with the movie preview protoforms (released them in stores even though 'don't open' date was May 1st). This isn't as far ahead of schedule as for the rest of the movie toys but still the same idea. RHanson, maybe you can weigh in on our (canadians) chances given the protoform situation?
