Of course they are. It's one man up against an army of 3P companies that themselves are up against Has/Tak.

Also I assume he was in charge of posing, since other cons I've been to have had the employees handle displays of their items. The posing is giving me the feeling he doesn't really care at this point.

 

I think you're reading too much into this.

I like the bot mode, tank mode, and gun mode. EJ Su's IDW -Ations Megatron is one of my favorite Megatron designs. The face is going to be the final push one way or the other for me.

Yeah, Kinda guessed that... still hoping for good things to happen to BF, since I'm wanting this to be part of my collection.

The worst part would be if the 3rd party rulers are pushing him down to eventually make him sell off the design at dirt cheap prices, therefore bring able to rebrand it under another name while using his design and engineering ??? And there goes another great designer !!!
...am I thinking too deep into this, a conspiracy perhaps ??    

 

Frankly, MP size or not, this is clearly a CHUG style figure, not MP style figure. Isnt the distinction clear enough? Anyway, its fellow CHUG competitor is tyrantron(both are IDW megs). IMO, the idea behind gladius is superior. But the execution of this figure..? Doesnt glorify the great idea behind it. I want my gladius to arrive and i hope this designer doesnt stop here. But all the latest updates dont seem to show progress. At least the prototype at free hobby 2017 means it still is in progress

really curios about the transformation on this, its such a neat and creative concept.

 

The thing to understand at this point is that the figure is already in plastic meaning molds are already made and money invested in them.

The only things we can possibly be waiting for are mold changes which may cost more money or waiting for their actual production slot which can have a whole lot of factors going on, one of which may also be money.

At this point I would say it is super unlikely that giving up is an option. From the looks of it this figure already has over 80k to 100k invested into it. I can't see anyone giving up at this point.

The designer needs to have a better avenue of communication to the fandom either through a site or through a vendor so that he can release info at a much better rate than is currently being released.

 

Oddly, that's kinda what his pose suggests too. Like a kid who could've tried harder and got caught slacking.

 

All I see is a good figure in a crappy display pose, adding some paint details (or Reprolabels) it would look cool enough.

 

Definitely good points about avenues of communication to the public.
Not only would that provide feedback for him about this work, but more so be a vital support mechanism. Like this forum  

One thing I hope doesn't fail is the transparent parts for Gladius. Coz I'll be buying them all  
It may be my only chance of a reformatted version of Megatron  

Unless one of the KO companies decides on a transparent Megatron, which is 100% likely !!
