A Roger Rabbit sequel? Seriously? They wait until now to do a sequel?

As much as I love "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," I really don't see much of a need to to a sequel.

Yes,but the movie will have no live actors? I'm not sure this will work well.

...say wha? A Roger Rabbit 2? Okay, there really are no original ideas out there anymore in movie land if they're making a sequel for ROGER RABBIT. Why not make some new movie about Oswald the Lucky Rabbit? At least some jokes could be pulled from how Oswald came before Mickey.

long time between the original and this sequel but there have been longer for example:
    The Hustler - 1961
The Color of Money - 1986

or Bambi and Bambi II a 64 year gap if you want to include a direct to video movie in such calculations.

anyway I will wait and see upon this.

Dear Bob Zemeckis, please quit it with your performance capture filmmaking. You don't know how to use it. Please go back to making movies like Back to the Future and Forrest Gump.

Look who else wants to be in roger rabbit 2

Movies - News - Christopher Lloyd up for 'Rabbit' sequel - Digital Spy

I wonder if they will use the plot from the marvel comic " Roger Rabbit: The Resurrection of Doom" were doom comes back to life?

Also Zemeckis has said in an interview that it will be 2d with live humans like the first. I hope that's how it stays but this is disney we are talking about.

As usual, I'll withhold judgment until we get some more specifics on the story, but I don't see it as something that would be very high on my "must-watch" list.

Also Wall Street (1987) and the recently released Wall Street II: The Vengeance, or whatever they called it. And Superman II (1980) and Superman Returns (2006), kind of.

Let's also not forget Tron (1982) and the upcoming Tron Legacy (December can't come soon enough).

    Agrees.

An animation test from when they were trying to make Roger Rabbit with CG animation in 1998:

YouTube - Roger Rabbit 2 screen test

It actually came out surprisingly good. Even today you rarely get CG animation with so much squash & stretch fluidity.

Personally I think they've left it too long at this stage. Also, as well-made as the original was, the actual character of Roger Rabbit has is one of the most annoying and unfunny cartoon characters ever conceived.
