Anyone see this yet? It's a very cool show from what I have seen of it. It's a new show on HBO about Mob life in the 20's during prohibition. Steve Buscemi is really awesome in it. At first I was hesitant on him playing another mob type, but it seems like he was made for the roll of a 20's gangster. Can't wait for episode number 2.

I was a little disappointed with it. The acting and characters was exactly like you've seen in dozens of mob movies but no where near the quality of Goodfellas or Casino.

Buscemi's role was very predictable. I'm a bad guy, but with a good heart, etc.
    Rothstein was ok to good.
The guy who played Lucky Luciano was pretty forgettable the same as the other mobsters.
The young Capone wasn't bad, but I don't know how much he will be showing up throughout the series.
Jimmy, ugh. Come on, kid goes to war and comes back and they actual give him the lines "I've seen things, I've done things." Never heard that one before. His eye squinting was really annoying and useless also.

I won't give up on it, but normally a good HBO series grabs me right from the first show. Will have to see if this one develops as it goes.

This has turned into such a wonderful program. With Mad Men's excellent season four concluding, this is the best drama currently on television.

I have been meaning to watch it. It looks pretty good in the commercials. It is on demand now so I can watch it some weekend and catch up on the episodes I have missed so far.

From what I've seen, it's a fantastic show! But I only saw the first few episodes as part of a free preview of HBO.

Can we all agree that Richard Harrow stole the first season? :)

Finally getting round to watching the first episode of the second series, only watched the opening but i'm loving it so far....oh shit didn't expect the KKK there...nearly expected Chalky to die there, thank god he was saved by the badass lady with the gun, he's one of my favourite characters

Three episodes in and LOVING it so far. Character development is setting up quite nicely...loving Jimmy's conflict between Nucky and the Commodore. THIS scene is well worth the price of admission.

Perhaps down the line we'll see Richard and Nucky's new strong arm going at it....and do you think Eli go the way of Fredo?

I'm loving this show but it's one hell of a slowburner, season 1 moved at such a slow pace I used to refer to it as Boredwalk Empire! Initially my thoughts on this show was similar to that of the Daily Gaurdian's Review as I felt it had all the makings of a great show- the actors, the dialogue, the settings, the backdrops and the authenthicity but yet it wasn't a great show! Every episode felt like something epic was on the verge of happening but it never did, the story was, subtle and complex but sometimes too much of both you couldn't really follow what was going on but you didn't even care as well.

But I stuck with it and so far season 2 is a lot better as I had anticipated it would be! My only gripe is the lead characters- James Darmody and Margaret Schroder- they're rather boring and uninteresting characters, I would have been happier if they had focussed on the other more interesting characters like Albert Rostein or like Luciano or Mansky but hollywood had done the latter two characters to death, I can see why the show didn't go in that direction!

I think it's an awesome show, much better than the overrated Game of Thrones!
