Both are off-beat racing games fuelled with power ups and high speed, yet I don't know which one to get. They both get great reviews and from what i've seen both offer that pick up and play kinda style I enjoy.

Do I flip a coin? Or does anyone have any insight in which to get?

Split Second if you loved Burnout.

Personally I am getting Blur because of the real cars in it. SS is a lot of fun I recommend the demo the racing in both games look like an arcade racers.

Skip both and get Mod Nation Racers.

Oddly enough, Recall, this is one time I can't provide an unbiased recommendation, seeing as how a friend of mine worked on Split/Second and I'm obligated to promote it over Blur and ModNation. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great game, but I chose it over Blur for that main reason.

Split Second also looks to be a boatload of fun.

If PS3 was still backwards compatible, then I'd finally buy the damn system and be playing it right now.

And now there's talk of a updated PS3 with smaller parts (possibly to make space for the return of backwards compatibility) so I'll just wait and see.

What's that got to do with the subject matter?

Nothing. I'm just saying IF I had a PS3, I'd choose split second.

I LOVE the Burnout games, and Split Second is like Burnout but they replaced the oncoming traffic with Michael Bay explosions.

Just a heads-up, I'm not sure if this is a national thing or anything (their online site doesn't have this deal), but I bought Split/Second today at my local Wal-Mart and although on the shelf it said it was ~$60, it rang up as $40. (I got it for the PS3, so I don't know if this markdown/sale is for the 360 as well or anything.)

Just in case anyone was on the fence at the full price.

Blur for me. 20 Player races with no server lag, omfg. Play with 4+ friends in a party in a 20 Player Room, OMFGRAWRJIZZEDINMYPANTS!

Yeah, I like me some Blur. That and the MW2 online challenges keep it going even more.

    Posting this here.

Best Buy currently has Blur for $39.99.

I was able to use this - Blur | Receive $20.00 Coupon! to get the game for $20. A lot of stores are also pricematching Best Buy's ad and allowing the use of the coupon

My friend and some others were also able to use a $10 off Best Buy Gamer's Club Reward Zone Coupon (printable from the RZ website) to get the game for $9.99. He chose a slacker looking guy who just pushed them both through, while another person was denied a lane over.

    I cannot promote Blur.

Why? The reason may be a tad childish, but it's still my opinion.

I REALLY despise their commercial. "Play with the big boys"? What kind of stupid cheap shot is that!? And not only did they make a cheap shot, but they completely missed THIS customer.

I absolutely love the premise of the game, but the commercial just leaves a super sour taste in my mouth.

You do know with there commercial they make fun of themselves at the same time since much of the game is built around the same style as Mario Kart right?

Also, if a Commercial puts you off, I can only assume that means you will miss out on alot of stuff due to advertising you didn't think was great.

That's a broad stroke you're making with that paintbrush.

I said it was my own opinion. Don't make an ASS out of U and ME.

You missed the point there, and your remark was not needed.

I have to confess--Blur was actually pretty boring to me. Split/Second is balls-out great.
