I really don't think it's a KO or a custom, but then that's just my opinion.
There were too many of them floating about at one point for it to be a custom job, and as Jason Blue Boost says, there is a trademark stamp on it so surely that rules it out of being a KO?

Having said all that, I couldn't tell you where it did come from. My best guess is it's an unreleased model of a scrapped Henkei Glyph. There are handfuls of unreleased toys which crop up from time to time, and this fits all the criteria.

I really do hope that this might get release sometime later on. It's really an incredible looking repaint in it's own right, despite the chrome.

 

I'm hoping we eventually see it released too. I love the look of it, but won't pay out the nose for it.

 

Yeah count me in on wanting to see it released at some point too. I don't like the chrome but it would be awesome to have a Classics Glyph.

 

My sources said that he's actual a testshot figure that never got approved for production. So that's why there's only a few of them and no large number of them. Maybe things will change in the future. Again by takara and not by hasbro.

 

If he really does see the light of day as Glyph, I'm hoping they retool his face and paint it gold:



Doubtful though, considering Dragstrip was just a repaint of classics Mirage with no retooled head.

30 bucks! Damn, if I saw that on ebay, I would have bought it instantly. DAMN! I love that mold.

 

Exclusives usually aren't high profile enough to warrant the extra cost that goes into making a new head. And besides, I think the Mirage head works on him. It's round rather than square but otherwise it works.

 

Would love to know when this appeard for $30, cheapest ive seen them was $100.

 

Seriously. I've wanted one of these since I saw it. I had my eye on them on ebay for a long time. If they were that cheap, I'd have one (or two) by now.

 

I paid like $100 for mine or something. I don't think it was ever that cheap. I did see it go for $300 for a while. Not sure how it is now.

 

After the first few samples were selling like wildfire, there was a time when sellers would label it as lucky draw bumblebees... after a few weeks the prices started waning for a good time period. 30-60 was the lowest i saw. then it went back up. i check ebay every day (have too much free time at work). i would have bit, but i figured i wanted this with a package like all my other gentei stuff... le sigh. even at a hundred bucks i would have gotten him if i'd have known. hindsight is a bitch.

 

Never have I seen it lower than 100 even on ebay, I checked with the person in china who sold me mine and they are now selling for min of $120usd in china and the only recent one to sell on ebay was $200usd.

 

I even saw one being sold for US$400...

I was actually waiting for it to come out sealed in package, I guess that's no longer gonna happen...

 

Well who knows....we might see this release in United.
