Now that Booster Gold doesn't feature Blue Beetle what's going to happen to him?

What? Blue Beetle's not the backup anymore? When did that happen? I was just starting to buy Booster Gold specifically for Blue Beetle!

Yeah. I just orded the first trade paperback for Blue Beetle because it was supposed to be quite good comic from what I heard.I heard starting #29 Blue Beetle isn't going to be the second feature.

Jaime, yeah. He's the only one around right now, eh? (Not counting Black Lantern zombies...)

So what's happening? Is DC going to give him another series (We can dream can't we?) or are Booster Gold and Blue Beetle going to form a new version of Blue and Gold?

According to my friend and Beetle artist Mike Norton, there is no plans for a Blue beetle series that he is aware of.

Aww. That kind of sucks. So, his back-up ran from what, BG #21-29? Any idea if those are going to be given the TPB treatment? As far as I know, they final 2 (or is it 3?) issues of the regular series haven't been reprinted yet... maybe they'll put those along with these in a trade? Hopefully?

It's just such a fun character and book...

It looks like DC is giving up on the back-up features. Blue Beetle and Metal Men are over, the LoSH dropped out of Adventure Comics after three or four issues, and the Wally West back-up in Flash was dropped before the book even started. The only one I know of that's still alive and kicking is the Question back-up in Detective Comics. It's a pity, I enjoyed the idea; hell, I only got Doom Patrol and Adventure for the back-ups (although at least the Legion will be getting its own book again this year).

I hope Blue Beetle finds a good home that's not the current crappy run of Teen Titans. Jaime's adventures haven't been as much fun without John Rogers writing, but he's still a great character.

See I hated it. I don't want to pay an extra buck to read a Question, Blue Beetle, or any other story. If the character can't support it's own book, it shouldn't be forced down our throats.
