Did anyone here buy RotF Bludgeon and NOT pretend he's not basically CHUG G1 Bludgeon?

After reading his RotF profile, I think it'd be doing him a favour...

He's so awesome, that he's allowed to belong to any toyline he wishes.

Except Kiss Players. Because Kiss players doesn't exist.

I never read the box profiles for figures and Bludgeon is a G1 character to me, so yeah...he was always classics Bludgeon as far as I'm concerned.

    He's CHUG. Here's why:

It's the same for Sea Spray in case that comes up too (as it often does):

I try to keep all the Classics related toys sorted out here: Classics/Henkei - The Definitive List (of NEW molds with 'Classics' styling)

I had him and Breakdown as Classics versions on my shelf for a while, but the aesthetic was a little too distracting for my taste, so I took them down.

Sweet. Now pretending became a lot easier! :D

Nothing the upcoming Headrobots kit won't fix.

Well Hell, for all those who say that some figures don't fit the aesthetic...I argue to look at the evolution of G1 toys. Compare G1 Bludgeon to say... G1 Optimus, for instance. The differences are enough there for me to reason, that because of his not quite fitting in when compared to the original lineup...that he DOES fit in my Classics collection.

So if everyone feels ROTF Bludgeon fits in with the Classics how do people feel about Seaspray? I had HFTD Seaspray with my Classics for a while but visually he never really quite fit in for me so I sold him.

Now if Headrobots would just get off their ass and put out that head they'd been showing off...

I didn't like the toy. Just didn't do it for me. Something about him is off. I prefer the deluxe sized one with the upcoming headrobots upgrade.

I did, I did NOT consider him a CHUG figure, but a Bayformer.

I think Seaspray is at least as CHUG-ish as RtS Lugnut, and he was retroactively put into G1!

I think he fits the aesthetic more than Bludgeon. I'd sooner put him on my Classics shelf. However, I already have a disproportionate amount of Autobots on the shelf, so I don't put him there.

I guess Seaspray being in with your Classics is a very personal choice. Lol.

:lol  Didn't mean to make money fly out of your wallet on you.

He is Classics Seaspray...except for the head, which pretty much ruins it for me.

Thankfully, I'm working on a fix...

    THANK YOU!

TFs have NEVER EVER had a unified aesthetic. And only VERY rarely have they had a unified aesthetic even in a single line.

Now I understand (don't *get* but understand) the people that collect in-package and so only keep toys with their wave- and line-mates, but for everyone who OPENS their toys, and who HAS a "Classics" (or whatever you want to call your Neo-G1 line up), I just can't understand why anyone would fuss over "He's a MOVIE guy, it says so on the box, and he has some more surface detailing than Voyager Optimus, therefore they look HORRIBLE TOGETHER" concerns...

But to each fan his own collecting desires.

OTOH, I got news for the folks who won't muddy the waters of their collections with filthy "repurposing," we ain't getting a new Seaspray or Bludgeon, or whoever else for a long time to come, because we got them already...so mix and match, or go without ;)

Seriously not nearly as concerned about this as my above tone may have implied, but aesthetic-fussiness is one of my biggest pet peeves! G1 Roadbuster, Shockwave, Prime, Omega Supreme, SkyLynx, Megatron, and Brawn realy do not look like they have ANY business being together in a "unified aesthetic toy line" let alone any one in the *Master era forward...Why should the modern versions of the the classic characters match any better???

    D/L
