Anyone else watch this? Basically driving cars that... eat people. Instead of gas they run on human blood. I'm surprised by the F-bombs being dropped.
I was surprised by that too. It's basically Death Race 2000 as a setup so they can go on a road trip through a bunch of grindhouse genres, and I think that's neat. The first episode was good, trashy fun, and I will probably watch the rest of the season too.
Heh, so why won't AMC give Negan his more verbal edge? It was TV MA for language sex nudity and violence. So we saw people getting fed into cars and treated to lots of gore; and after hearing the F-bombs on SyFy I thought we might see some goods. Big black rectangles. And a bare butt. But I guess those black bars will go away if you actually purchase the show. Good marketing strategy SyFy.
Mr. Robot had uncensored f-bombs in its season 2 premiere, and then censored them the rest of the season. The same could still happen here, but I doubt it considering the whole point of the show is that it is a throwback to movies that pushed violence, sex, and language to the extreme.
I caught the rerun of the first episode after WWE Raw on Monday. Not only was I surprised by the F-bombs being dropped but I was also surprised that I didn't hate it. I actually enjoyed it.
it's kind of a fun show. Last night they stopped at a diner, which they soon discovered served... knock off beef.
I think the reason I enjoy it, is it reminds me of a really bad horror movie with no real explanation whatsoever. Gas prices are high and gas is scarce. So a group of people put meat grinders in their cars. Now the cars run on blood, but the general populace doesn't know it exists. Just accept the absurdity and enjoy the ride lol

I thought the second episode was more fun than the first. The bit with cannibal freaking out because a guy didn't crack the window of his car open with his dog in the vehicle at night was hilarious. There were some good camera shots too like the one take at the beginning of the episode and the wide shot of the swinging door as the cannibals are starting to "prepare the next meal."
Tonight's episode: Arthur and Grace race through a mysterious city only to fall prey to its nocturnal inhabitants
Well, now that this show has... ran its course... what do others think of it? For me, it started fantastic. I thought it was bold, daring and fresh. I thought the creativity lasted until about mid season where it was becoming rather pedestrian. I fell asleep during a couple episodes... but didn't care enough to re-watch them later to see what I missed. Then came the finale. What started with a bang ended in a whimper. I think it started taking itself too seriously. SyFy has not renewed the show. But then again, I think it was only meant to be a 1 season filler.
I pretty much feel the same way. It started off strong with a bit of a Robocop meets Grindhouse vibe. I think it did become a bit too grand in scale in the last episode. I hope they do renew it though because it was a fun, little Summer action show with a unique tone.
