Who even remembers Blaze? Blaze and Chun-li are responsible for kickstarting puberty for trillions of young boys in the early 90s, myself included... I always wanted a cool figure of the smexy leggy fighter gal from the Streets of Rage games, so I used a Figma Mikuru Asahina to make her. It took lots of cutting, sanding, and some sculpting before finally painting her up. A but too anime still for my tastes and I wish she had an angry face, but otherwise I think the donor fig worked out well enough. A few of my reference pics added at the end there. I also used game screens but uugh... the graphics did not hold up through the years.
Your first paragraph brought a tear to my eye. Truer words never written. Great job. Recreates the animations well.
Ha ha, yes!! I loved that game and I used to always use her. Thinking about it now makes me realize I was kinda creepy at the time, but I thought she was hot. Great job man, bringing back the memories!
Thanks guyz! I'm glad there are people who remember the old Streets of Rage. Back then it was top notch gaming, but its hard to even see how these days.
This is awesome i loved those games never beat any of em but i cant go play these game now because my cartridges broke awhile ago and i want to beat them still
My friend, you gotz ta an emulator or three. MAME and Mugen is the business! There's NES, SNES, Genesis emulators that allow you to play all of those classic games on your computer without a cartridge!!! I have all three Streets of Rage plus a ton of arcade classics. Funny thing is, because they're 8 and 16 bit, they hardly take up any space on the computer. Mugen isn't as stable but if you like versus fighting games, Mugen is a fight lover's wet dream as you can play literally nearly any sidescrolling character against the other across brands. There's SF (most if not all the characters), all the SNK characters, Mortal Kombat, Marvel vs Capcom and custom made characters that have never been in a game before from anime and occasionally movies. I even missed a few but I just wanted to give you the gist of it. I'm still trying to pass Ninja Gaiden 3 (NES) because that was the one I never passed as a kid. I beat the first two. 3 is hella hard.
Forgot to comment on the custom. Stupid me. This is fantasic! It's cool that you even posed her in some of her trademark moves. Did you grab those poses from memory or screen cap because that's exactly how she kicks?
THANK YOU DOODS! Hah yeah I did the poses without reference. I had been googling pics of her before painting and some were in-game screens so maybe it refreshed my memory subconsciously.
You should post this over at the Bombergames forum. It's a Streets of Rage fan site. I'm sure the fans would love it.
I checked out the site. I'm surprised there is still a fan site for SoR! A new highly updated 3d graphics version wouldn't be a bad idea. I don't even have a clue who Mikuru was so I don't care. I just thought the figure looked like a good possible Blaze. Hah yeah I know...
