I love black repaints but I've never actually owned one, SDCC Nemesis Prime will be my first.

 

Everything looks better in black   That said, I don't own any black repaints; BT Dead End & MP Skywarp are the two black TFs I currently own, not quite the same as Black Convoys, Starscreams, Hot Rods etc etc.

I just like looking at other peoples' collections of em. A shelf of black TFs always looks cool.

 

No love for Dark Fang Wolf?   I'll have to fix that later.

 

I love the black repaints/themed ones! My favorite right now is my recently acquired Dark Nitro Convoy, that thing is hot!

 

I've always liked em, especially the Nemesis Prime/Black Convoy/Scourge one's. But I've never really had any with the exception of my Armada Nemesis Prime. But I now have a SDCC Nemesis Prime on it's way to me as well as a Car Robots Black Convoy. Can't wait till they arrive!!

HAHA yeah I have a feeling I'm gonna be hooked. I missed out on RID/car robots as I was a poor student at the time and the one episode I saw really turned me off. But suddenly I find myself drawn to them so I think I'm gonna be getting some of those as well. I also have a Rail Racer set on the way.

I think any mold at all can look good in black.

There seem to be quite a few members who would like a black repaint but have none. I wonder which black repaint is the easiest to obtain? Judging by the recent surge of Black Convoy ownership, I am guessing he's the easiest, and possibly cheapest? (Excluding Spychanger Scourge)

Also, are Skywarp and Soundblaster the only black repaints not called "Black/Dark/Nemesis so and so"?

I failed to mention that I have Black Lio Jr., and I must admit I so wish his mane was teal. I know a teal mane wouldn't fit Magnaboss colour scheme and many people are bored to death with black x teal, but still  
Dark Ligerjack matched it with teal and silver, though I don't have him anymore.

 

I don't like black repaints for the sake of black repaints, but doppleganger characters always interest me, especially those of Prime and Rodimus. Typically, any representation of these two I've always found appealing  

 

we've also got that black Leader megatron repaint coming up.

Black Convoy runs around $50... DFW could be had for less than $30 before the supply dried up... I'd assume the surge in Black Convoy ownership is because it's 1) a kick-ass toy and 2) not that hard to find... And there was that relatively recent appreciation thread.

Yeah when I was looking for the Black/Dark/Nemesis/Scourge stuff, black convoy did seem to be fairly common and wasn't too badly priced. Though right now the SDCC Nemesis prime is EVERYWHERE. I think you pretty much have em all covered as far as I know though. Most of the black repaints are the Nemesis/Scourge type. There was that black repaint of Cybertron Ransack though.

 

JRX is almost entirely made of painted clear plastic. I like it, but it isn't that great.

 

Didn't know about new black Megs (I'm not really up to date), but when I think of black repaints, like SQ7 says I'm definitely thinking of an evil twin of a good guy. Since I'm not a big Prime fan, those bad guys give me opportunity to enjoy Prime moulds.

So black Megs doesn't appeal to me that much, but if the mould is good to begin with, I guess black might make him look more menacing?

I thought Black Convoy was a bit cheaper than that   Even at $50 he's worth every cent, though.

SB1, I do remember you were disappointed with JRX. What was wrong in your opinion?
My J4's right leg joint is getting loose. His roof/arm parts worry me, too, but I still love him
