In the comics. He didn’t say that BP was the first Black Superhero movie...

Culturally speaking, this is a huge moment for Black representation in movies.

A very different marvel film. This is the first time I genuinely feel if you’ve never seen a MCU film or know anything about superheroes you could watch this and enjoy it fine. The story was well told save for a cringe worthy “WAHT ARE THOSE” joke that made my theater groan. A nice brisk self contained story that was a nice change of pace. Now bring on infinity war.

It wouldn’t be an MCU movie without inane humor. Good to here about the story and overall quality of the movie though.

Edit - I withdraw this statement for this film specifically.

All Captain America movies, Avengers, GOTG2, Thor Ragnarock, Ironman, Doctor Strange and Ant Man.

Killmonger's arc was well done, I just wasn't that impressed with his personality wise.

Huge fan of Cowan. The Question series he did with O'Neil might be my favorite thing DC has ever published.

Man, I so hype for this. Sucks I won't be able to see this until March because I'm currently abroad. Well, at least now I know how you international folks feel like waiting for movies.

I plan to see it when I see my sweetheart in a couple of weeks, as she loves the Marvel movies and has a thing for black guys (me being one). Culturally, I don't see how it's a really big deal personally. I know it's a majority black cast and it's not something having to do with drugs or gangs or anything of that nature. I just wanna see it because it's marvel and it'll be good.

    Saw it last night.
    Serviceable yet entertaining popcorn flick.

Black Panther is a decent flick with a predictable plot that has been seen a number of times already.
As likable as T’Challa is, I think Snipes did it a little better a couple decades prior.
The most interesting of characters were actually the bad guys; Klaw was entertaining, if not a little over the top- and I wish we could see more of him in future installments.
The real gem in this film is Killmonger- by far the best, most interesting, and most under utilized character in this film. He owned the screen in any scene he was in.

There is nothing in this film that hasn’t already been done. It’s an entertaining popcorn film; nothing more.

    It’ll make bank.
The blu rays will make bank.
But the only thing saving this film from that bargain bin- where a lot of other good films end up, mind you- is that it is a Marvel Movie.

    Not quite a B- Solid B.

So which superhero flick do you consider a
game changing, earth shattering & life altering experience?

Shuri and Okoye might beg to differ with you on that.

How abt non-superhero flick? Diehard franchise maybe?

Edit: For me that one flick which made a huge impact is the 2007 Michael Bay Transformers movie.

That was a game changing, earth shattering & life altering movie experience for me. It turned me into a Bayformers fanatic.

    Bayformers forever!

What about The Avengers? If there's ine movie that really was a game changer it would be this one judging from all the copycats who tried to duplicate its effect but missed the point.
