Soon, but I'm not sure of the date yet. It'll air around the same time as Full Metal Alchemist.

FMA is getting a new season? Really? It's been off the air for years, seems odd to be bringing it back.

It'll be closer to the manga. It had a different plot 1/2 way through and ending.

God I can't wait for this. I had a blast watching the first two seasons. I loved the Japan arc.

Black Lagoon is one of the few animes that I'd hands-down recommend the dub over the sub (I'm a dub watcher, personally, but I don't mind watching subs, and I don't tend to advocate one over the other. But in this case, dub, full stop). At its most basic, it feels more natural in English due to the ethnic flavour of the show. 3/4 of the Lagoon crew is American (even though I've seen the second season in Japanese, I still can't picture Dutch as fluent Japanese speaking), and a good number of the rogues they deal with are American or at least from Western nations. And then you get all of the colourful accents that you don't get in the Japanese version (dead-stoned Irishman getaway driver, pure comedic gold. And mustn't forget "Chinglish").

Beyond the superficial stuff, I just found the English dub better acted. The Japanese VA for Revy just came across as PO'ed and bored all the time. Maryke Hendriske, on the other hand, really got into the role. Excitable, violent, and downright psychotic, she nailed the role perfectly. Not to say the rest of the cast were slouches, either. Balalaika's VA was chillingly cold. And Brad Swaile always brings a certain likability to the characters he voices.

Actually, a huge number of the Western characters are Russian, especially in the second season. The "main" character is Japanese, and the setting has mostly been in Japan and Southeast Asia. Trying to even picture Rock's trip back to Japan from season 2 being done in English makes me cringe just a little. Revy's character is supposed to be bored most of the time, except when she's pissed off, so I'm a little disheartened that they changed her.

    You mean Strika...

...I'm serious, she's the same person who played Strika in Beast Machines (One of the few characters in that series I liked)

Yeah. An Anime club I go to every month finished the series and we were waiting on info for the third season. Thanks for the head's up on Season 3, wonder what they're gonna call it... :/

Cool. The first two seasons were great. It sucks though, because I have to wait for the dub. They better keep the old cast when they do it. I really like that dub.

For the interpretation scenes at least, I'm not sure if they kept the original Japanese track for the Japanese mobsters, or recorded new material, but either way, they speak Japanese. Brad Swaille speaks Japanese when he's interpreting.
The rest of it is dubbed as normal.

And it's not like I don't realize that Revy is supposed to sound bored, it's just that in Japanese, when she does get excited, it's more generic angry PO'ed, whereas Maryke really goes into full-on psycho mode.

Eh, the show is short. Just watch both and take what you like from each. :D  It's that good.
