    Hello everyone,

    I'm from Vancouver, BC, Canada.

I plan to go to Washington State on Thursday, November 22, 2007 at midnight for "Black Friday" shopping with my fiance.

Any tips? What should we expect? How should we prepare? Any stores in northern Washington state with a history of "Black Friday" bargains?

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Expect A LOT of people wherever you go. Expect insanity wherever you go. Expect LONG lines at checkout. Honestly I would say avoid it. I know I will.

More than likely most of them, if not all of them. XD

Most places either start their sales or open at 5am, and usually there are already lines of people waiting well before then. "Early Bird" sale prices usually end around lunchtime but markdowns will still be around for the rest of the weekend, but they're not near as cheap as the opening prices.

Good luck to you if you're still looking to brave the insanity. ^_^

Walmart has some really good deals, and they start at 5am - 11am. But get there early as most of the good items are limited to what they have in stock.

Do a google search for "black friday ads" and you will get lots of sites that only deal with that. Most stores are on those sites.

It's crazy. I've worked quite a few of them at Marshall Fields and it's just friggin insane.

Just to know how many people you are dealing with, I rean the Starbucks in the department store and we did $10,000 in COFFEE! Not like food and coffee, no. Just $3 cups of coffee. That's like 3400 people.

I might go to Walmart early to see if I can get a few Starscreams for people. But otherwise, I just may say to screw it and sleep in.

    Thanx for the advice everyone!

We plan to line up before midnight on Thursday at Seattle Premium Outlets. We'll have some Starbucks coffee to keep us awake too! We also plan to check out Walmart, Bestbuy, and a few other places.

    Wish us luck!

Good luck, don't get trampled, avoid all shady characters, and most importantly... Prepare for the long hike from the parking space you end up getting to the store and back. (I come from the land of small parking lots... It might not be as bad in Seattle)

As someone who has worked through a few black fridays: Why would you want to put yourself through the experience?

My fiance and I never shopped the United States Black Friday before. So, we want to try it out once! Who knows?! It may be our first and last Black Friday!

I love your choice of words! Funny! Thanx.

He's not kidding either, especially in the big department stores. I have watched people get into fist fights over who's gonna get the last of a sales item. Be ever vigilant.

I hate Black Friday shopping, and I was definitely going to avoid this year, but I bought Cybertron Leader Prime at the beginning of this month not knowing he was gonna be a BF item so now I have to go to TRU for a price adjustment (and if not that a return/buy another).

Man, I haven't gone Black Friday shopping since I was like 6(7 years ago) It is fucking crazy, even an hour into store opening and it's like a Beatles concert.

Bring an empty bottle. And some hand sanitizer for after the "use" of the bottle

I thought that's what the drains in the parking lots are for?

    So that wasn't free lemonade?

    Damn neighbor kids...

But it seriously is fucking insane. Don't get shot, it's been known to happen. Of course, go for the popular items or stuff you really want first. You don't want to start a fist-fight with shopaholics over a new TV or something
