To serve irony. This is a thread bitching about bitching.

Now, the subject manner. There has been a surplus of threads, of users bitching about the "kindness factor" on this forum.

To an extent, I fully understand. We -are- a lot of sarcastic assholes. However, I feel as if these people have a point.

More and more, I notice just how harsh we are to people, as well as new users. But, perhaps that is due to the the Movieverse, as well as casual fans that just are not into Transformers like a majority of us are, and y'know just don't -know- as much as some of us do.

But, perhaps that isn't the root of the problem. Perhaps some of us, are just generally douche-bags.

However, for a site that is directed at a minority, I would hope that some of us still had a shred of humanity left for fellow collectors, as well as fans of the literature, and media. Yet, I keep seeing a large majority of us adding to worldsuck.

To which I say. Yes, this is the internet. However, why make it worse than it already has to be?

Really, since when does talking about "How cool that super poseable Optamis Prahme" is, turn into "GO **** YOURSELF YOU **** STICK IT IN HER POOPER CAUSE I'M INB4THREADLOCK!!!!"

Really bitches, really? Yes, there doesn't need to be 900k threads of "Hey guize, I rllllly leik dat tuner mudflap, d00d is so rare!!!" However, some people don't know the rules, or just haven't bothered with them because they just got excited to talk about Transformers. Is that so wrong?

Like, for fuck sakes. Close to a year ago, when I thought I was essentially alone in Las Vegas in terms of collecting, and VTC member VenomX messaged me, telling me about Meetups and what-not, and honestly I was scared to go, just because how alot of you guys are.

Though, the one thing I forgot. Was outside of computer-land, in the world of real-life. We are all collectors, and even if we don't show it on here, we are all generally good people.

I have to say, meeting these people was the best choice I ever made. I have made a ton of great friends in the VTC and they have to be some of the coolest dudes i've met, as well as the LA Collective, just pure genuine people. They don't put up asshole fronts, they just talk about what we all are on this site to talk about in the first place. Transformers.

I know, that was alot of gushy shit... but. The point is. I think before we post, we need to take a step back, remove the stick from our asses and quit using this sheild we call the internet. Perhaps filter what we are thinking. Because, for fuck sakes. You wouldn't be a dick-weed in real life. Why do it on here?

Just my thoughts on the subject matter. Though, I smell threadlock and trolls in my future. But, I figured that it should be said.

Yeah, a lot of people will act like jerks just because they can on the internet. I know I was guilty of that sometimes in the past (though never on here). Being a faceless poster gives you freedom to say things you probably shouldn't. It's a shame really.

What's the point of the internet if we can't act like a bunch of assholes on it?

Most people don't understand sarcasm on the internet, hence the meltdowns/ madness of some people.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if someone is being sarcastic, most of the time it's pretty blatant, but without the clues of tone of voice and facial expressions, I can understand people getting confused.

People who get offended by other people's comments need to stay off the internet. No matter how much you whine about it, you can't change it. If you don't like it, GTFO.

I have to agree, because it is hard to know if the person is being sarcastic or not.

But that's the beauty of sarcasm. If you have to clearly state that you're being sarcastic, then the entire purpose is lost.

I don't think it's too bad considering how many variety of members we have.

Im more worried about the age groups. Hard to tell if Im talking to a 14 year old.
TF youngsters seem a bit smarter than the ordinary kid.
Try having a little convo with a star wars kid, he just wants to hit you in the face with a light saber.
