I hate the way defibrillators work in Hollywood as magic heart-starting devices like humans are Frankenstein's monster and can be revived with just electricity.

More people than you think, Rodders. Just because something is science-fiction doesn't mean a writer can neglect research for proper terminology. An error in fiction is still an error. There's only so much suspension of disbelief and acceptance people can manage after all.

Yeah, I guess you're right. It just seems an odd thing to be miffed about in a comic book. I wouldn't have even noticed the error if the original poster hadn't pointed it out, its been a long time since I studied cell membranes. *shrugs*

Yeah, I wouldn't have seen the mistake either. And yes, proper physics in fiction are necessary too.

For example, in the Marvel comics, Shockwave rises from the ocean in robot mode after being completely submerged in the water... a few feet away from Blackpool beach. That's just not physically possible. Shockwave then kills a man on the beach for witnessing his appearance... but neglects to do anything to the whole town that would also have seen him. Not a physics error, just bad writing that I have to mention. Its an unnecessary scene as well as Shockwave has no purpose for revealing himself.

His head uttered some Cybertronian symbol in the Annual, so maybe he isn't dead yet?
