Well I just did an article talking about shockwave and wheeljack and decided to get shockwave. Now, for my second thread ever, I ask you. Should I get prowl instead of wheeljack? Sorry to be bothering you guys but I am starting to really like these threads, kinda like when u first get a facebook account. Should I get prowl or wheeljack?

I never liked the Acura mold, but there's others here that think it's the best one.

Personally I didn't like the BT Prowl we got from Takara so I customized mine.

Get them both. Honestly, they were both fantastic figures. Wheeljack was exceptionally well done for a redeco, and Prowl was just made for that RSX mold.

I think the problems people run into the Alternators line is that there were so many repaints and redecos that the line sort of got stale quickly.

Wheeljack is an awesome mold, probably one of my favorites.

Prowl on the other hand is not really prowl. He is really Red Alert. So what you need if you want a real prowl is buy Prowl, buy Binaltech Red Alert and do a head swap. Then do the reprolables.

This is not my pic, but I did the same exact thing as this guy. The Prowl is Binaltech Red Alert, Prowl head a reprolabel stickers.

The Red Alert is Prowl, with Red Alerts head and proper stickers.

To me it looks like your asking in which order to get figures. I would recommend:

    1- Jazz
    2- Wheeljack
    3- Mirage
    4- Prowl/Red Alert
    5- Alternity Bumblebess
    6- Alternity Cliff Jumper
    7- Hound
    8- Silverstreak
    9- Sunstreaker
    10- Sideswipe

I will update my collection tomorrow to see what it looks like, but these two pics I posted are good too.

Love the Binal Tech Arming Parts. I wish I can find more for myself. I had a radicon custom make me 8 of them. Waiting to recieve them. The only problem is that they are not chrome. But I think they will work.

At the moment, I only have one.

Not sure what you are looking for in your alternators. I was looking for G1 accuracy and G1 Toy accuracy.

    G1 Toy:

Alternator Red Alert with Prowl Head and Reprolbels and Binal Tech Arming Parts:

Thats as close to perfect as you will get.

I haven't gotten them yet, but it will be my next purchase.

Depends as I said before. What are you looking for? G1 Accuracy? If so, get the reprolabels. If not, he looks great without them.

Then that is a toss up.

By the way, I am not sure how many alternators that you already own, but they are definately a love hate thing with them.

I love them and think they look great mixed in with my MP stuff. Having said that, they are really annoying. I don't think I transformed one of these guys where a piece did not fall off. Doors and arms are the biggest culprits. Also, most of the alternators need reprolabels and possibly some minor tweaks to be all the can be. However once they are tweaked you cannot go wrong. Most of them are great reproductions of their G1 counterparts.

Ouch... that is steep. You can definately get them A LOT more affordably.

I don't mean any offense, but are you relatively new to collecting? Only reason I ask is because I overspent when I first started collecting as well. If you are here are some quick tips:
    - Buy opened figures. I have bought about 1/10th of my collection opened from other collectors like myself, and they are all as good as MISB but cheaper.
    - Wait, I know it's hard, but you could have probably got smokescreen for $40 MISB.
    - Always check the BST here first before EBay and the such

Yeah, I waited for my prowl (red Alert) I got him for $25, MISB. Saw him for like 3-4x. The $300 price tag is insane for that guy. $80 is not horrible for him. But you may have been able to snipe him at $40 or $50.

I sniped a Ultra Magnus / City Commander Set for $175. That was a steal by the cost he was going for.

On the other hand my impatience has also gotten the best of me as well.

That's definately going to get expensive. Why just Binaltech may I ask? I actually find them more annoying to transform then the Alternators. I thought I would like the heft of the metal, but found it makes it harder to tab it in, in the long run. I find the Alternators hold together better.
