In this youtube video about Alternators Prowl, at 8:14 you can see a blue Prowl with different lower legs. Is that factory issue, or are those legs a mod job?
That's the leg swap mod. Can't find a link, basically you take the lower legs off and swap them. You get better knee articulation because the bumpers are behind the legs. It also looks more like G1 Prowl's legs. Transformation to vehicle mode still works.
Google Alternators Prowl Leg Mod. I was looking at it the other day when I was about to purchase a prowl. There are "how to's" on it and it looked pretty simple. I didn't read into it too much cause I ended up purchasing something else. Not sure if there is something else or what this guy did.
I did that leg mod on my BT Prowl but eventually I realised he still wasn't G1 enough so I used a BTA Alert and Alt Ricochet to create a new body and stuck BT Prowls head on it. Perfect, easy and no painting required!
What parts from Ricochet did you use for Prowl? I use BT Alert and Reprosticks. I love the red and white stomach...very coppish.
The leg mold on the Alt/BT Prowl mold is very simple. It gives the legs more articulation and the alteration does not mess up the transformation process--you just skip one step. It did it mine long time ago with a small screw driver. But like other posters, I got my hands on BTA Red Alert and did a head swap, some minor painting, and added some Reprolabels.
