I would have retired WAY before that if I were him.

    He needs a break.

Technically, he's not retiring. He's just slowly shuffuling duties to those right below him (a process that's been in the works for a bit now.) He'll still be a part of Microsoft but he'll be devoting more time to his charity work. Great guy even with more money than god.

    Well, he deserves a break.

Go Bill! And if you need to give any more of your fortune away, you know who to call.

he's gonna stay home and make a baby, cause when he retires (10 - 20 years from now), he'll have to give it off to someone :D

and BILL, here's a charity you can give to: "THE MAKE TRANSFORMERS FROM SUCKING" foundation. They really need help cause they've been sucking on the cartoon's for a while now.

In any case, I'm hoping this decision leads to some meaningful change in the way of medical breakthroughs or a reduction of poverty. Man's got enough money to help with either, or possibly even both, especially now that he's got a greater eye on charity.

Theres already more then enougth money flying around to fix both of those. The ability to manage it and get results is the real asset that Gates can bring to the table, a billion dollars in his hands is worth more then 100 billion pissed away on useless third world governments and short sighted aid agencies.
