I was going to pass, as the DVD release was pretty good. But I can NOT resist an extended cut.

I am shamed to say I never got the DVD release.

However, I shall be picking this up.

Well since I got the DVD release from the $5 bin at Wal*Mart, I guess I could pick this up! How much is going to sell for?

MSRP will be $35. But I haven't paid more than $25 for any Blu-Ray in the last few months. Since it's a catalog title, you'll probably be able to find it for under $20.

If you know anyone with a BJ's Warehouse membership, go there. I've been buying new catalog title releases for $15 on Blu-Ray from there.

BJ's? I may have to go there. I have a BJs membership but have not used it in a while. I will have to go check out their BD's.

I really hope they release the extended cut on DVD, too. So far, I have refused to go Blu.

It's mainly worth it for older or catalog titles. But I do find new release deals that I can't pass up. The best was for the Dark Knight. I got a BJ's coupon for $5 off the Dark Knight on Blu-Ray, regardless of sale or not. I get there, and the Blu-Ray is already on sale for $26. So I used the $5 off coupon and got it for $21. they also send me coupons for $5 off any Blu-Ray once in awhile.

Awsome! Okay. You people sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we're not back by dawn... call the president.

What are these extended bits? I ask because in the UK, sometimes film releases are extended from US versions, like Highlander.

It is unknown what they are. Apparently it's a never released cut of the film.

I don't know about the US, but the prices on catalogue titles here are boggling my mind.

I was going to wait a year or two before I started replacing the DVDs I already have, but its not worth waiting if the discs are good when online retailers are chopping at least 45% off the RRPs for most titles. Thats less then I paid for most of my stuff when I brought them on DVD and on VHS before that.

As long it's not 10 minutes of Egg Shen scratching his ass it should be good.

Just caught this on G4 over the weekend, forgot how much I loved this as a kid. Definitely interested as long as yeah, not just scenes of people running around or doing nothing etc.

Also yay for better encode of the film!

Eh they said that about the R1 Directors cut of Highlander. Then when I got it it was identical to the normal UK release.

Different cuts for different countries always confused me. Like that scene in Ghostbusters where the shelf falls over in the library, in one cut they say something after it falls, and in another they don't. Very weird.

I remember there being some deleted scenes on the two disc DVD release, but don't remember what they were.

I'll probably be picking this up as it's one of my favorite movies, but really, really hoping they do a good job on the transfer.

I think this is what is getting added to the film:

Extended Airport and Chinatown (various scenes throughout, mi ling speaks)
Extended Dragon of the Black Pool Scene (explantion of Lo Pans past)
Extended White Tiger Brothel (Kurt Russell does comedy)
Extended Gracies Office (The seahorse line now makes sense)
Extended Thunders Tour (we actually get a tour now)
Six Demon Bag (13 mins of little odds and ends; about 10 mins got used)
Extended Ending (we now see the red car ninjas get their just reward)
