ok, i just watched "sick mind" again and found a big inconsistancy with the episode plot.

bumblebee uses a a sychic patch to go into megatron's mind, so it is his mind in there, sooooo...

Why cant he speak, his voice box in his physical body is broken, so why would it still not work in his mind, why would physical disability stay in his mental state

i mean megatron's body currently has a big whole in his chest but his mental self doesn't have it

am i right about this or what

thats a good pick up that i didn't notice. There wont be any other good explaination other than it was an ooops they didn't think about cuz they didn't want him to speak this early on

 

If his voice damaged happened so long ago, he may now used to it, thus may mentally perceive himself mute as his "correct" self.

 

Good point supernova, I don't have a good answer, besides bad writing, but I'll try: Perhaps the psychic patch doesn't let you create your persona from scratch but simply creates you as you "think" yourself to be when you use it (which could explain why Megs was healthy in his mind, since he, well, thought he *was* healthy; he wasn't aware he was in a coma and rusting).

 

if thats true, then when he realised the state he was in and what happened, he should have become all dameged and rusty

Out-of-universe, the writers either didn't want him to use his voice this early, or they didn't want to shell out for an actor. After all, 'Bee would have only had a few lines.

 

Like split lip said, because maybe bumblebee is already used to beeping he most likely didn't even consider using his actual voice.
Just because something small like that isn't consider doesn't mean its bad writing.

for the same reason IDW Wheelie still talks the way he does-soo used to talking one way, he didnt change back to talk in another way.

 

Actually, I kinda have another idea. If you remember the next episode, Out of His Head, I think, Megatron speaks thru Bumblebee's body to Arcee. What Bumblebee's voice issue is all in his head?? What if Ratchet fixed his voice long ago, and Bee just... won't use it?

 

Ratchet said in Operation Bumblebee, Part 1 that he hasn't been able to repair Bumblebee's voice.

 

What bothered me more was how Megatron was able to speak in Bumblebee's body.

 

It was for....... DRAMATIC! EFFECT!  

Alternatively, maybe it's because we're hearing it from Raf's point-of-view, so to speak.

 

Did he, or was it just Raf's interpretation of Megatron's words for the audience's sake?

Afterall, "BEEP-BEEPBEEP BEEPBEEP BEEP BEEPBEEP-BEEP" isn't as dramatic for the audience.

 

Dunno. But either way it's confusing for me if they're just suddenly switching to Raf's point of view a single time in the entire show just to have a dramatic moment. Especially since this show is good at conveying drama or emotion without the characters having to speak.

 

This way of speech is the way, how he sees, apprehends and feels himself. So, having himself just as how he remembers and takes himself, he goes to Megatron's minds all that way.
Bee could go and react on Megatron's talks how he wanted to react, so- no Megatron's influence on Bee.
And I think, this feature makes him more individual, he likes to communicate that way.
