So I'm making a ROTF leader Megatron Custom, and doing some research, frenzy_rumble used a ball joint for the Murder Arm, and I was wondering what ball joint would be big enough.

F_R says he thinks something from beast wars, but can anyone shout out any ideas of what toy(s) I could use?

    Thanks!

Lego Bionicle joints work well, the big ones are 10mm.

Yeah Bionicle is best for larger balljoints, I think the only thing I've seen that's larger is the ball joint on ROTF Leader Primes feet, but even then it has that weird socket and such.

yeah, the bionicles are a good size, but make sure you buy a set w/ black.
The BW (i think) figure I used was some sort of crab with claws and rubber treads...

It was most likely Rampage[IMG], I also have a question, how would you attach a ball joint to something that's never had a ball joint before?

I already cut the arm in half, and I'll put the ball joint on one end and the socket on the other.

Check out Sorlac333's megatron, he used a ratchet joint from movie scorponok. Its probably the cleanest megatron arm mod I've seen.

I used a balljoint but will change it to the Scorponok joint when I get a chance.

Just checked Scorponok, the joint doesn't have a ratchet because there are some mechalive gears in there. That shouldn't make any difference though. The shaft its on also rotates so it has motion in all directions.

I used a balljoint for a Starscream hand mod, it was way too small so I glued 2 rubber O rings to the socket to tighten it up.

    Hakka.
